Tasted by Winokdub on 6/23/2014 & rated 91 points: Wow. Great structure still. Very balanced. Fruit has faded a bit but leave a complex and interesting array of spices with soft tannins and a slight tartness that screams for food. Very very good. A crowd pleaser (1033 views)
Tasted by FPNova on 12/30/2010 & rated 92 points: Deep purple color. Sweet blackberry and leather aroma. Jammy, mouth filling, chewy blackberry with a little zest as an after-note. Robust but nicely rounded tannins and a medium to long finish. The pepper on the finish I noted 15 mos ago on the last one of these I opened is gone now - for the better. (1652 views)
Tasted by brubron on 9/6/2010: plenty of fruit, spice, left in this lady. she holds her share of alcohol and remains a racy date for baby back ribs. (1865 views)
Tasted by FPNova on 9/20/2009 & rated 92 points: Deep purple color. Aroma of sweet ripe blackberry. Jammy blackberry flavor with a little zest on the second note. Tannins are well balanced and mellowing very nicely with just a hint of pepper on a nice long finish. (1848 views)
Tasted by dbarco on 10/17/2007 & rated 92 points: Very enjoyable. Rich fruit yet a bit of finesse. Still a little "hot" for my taste. (2111 views)
Tasted by dbarco on 5/24/2006 & rated 91 points: Very nice fruit, maybe a bit much alcohol, wonderful finish. This is very enjoyable. (1888 views)
Tasted by jmd60611 on 4/15/2006 & rated 93 points: Really good zin, full bodied and peppery, viscous and fruity without a big alchohol kicker...Balance in a fine zin (1720 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
