Tasted by joet626 on 1/5/2012 & rated 90 points: Spicy and peppery. Smooth and very tasty. Dark in color and full of berries. Really liked it.
Lots of sediment in the bottle--maybe decant to filter silt but would not influence taste. (9563 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 11/24/2011: Solid wine with lots of fruit, but wouldn't go out of my way to purchase. (6025 views)
Tasted by Gargamel on 11/23/2011 & rated 91 points: couldn't keep my hands off this. needed a tuesday night bottle and since it was only $8 it was the winner. didn't take notes, but the oak was much more integrated thasn my first bottle. a real surprise since it had only been 6 weeks since the last one, so maybe bottle variation or travel shock. anyway it was much cleaner and shows promise. hopefully i can hold off on the next for 6 months.  Tasted by Gargamel on 10/8/2011 & rated 89 points: decant for 90 minutes, drank over 3 hours, lots of sediment. nose of herbal anise, blackberry and oak. the palate has lots of blackberry with licorice and oak. finishes fairly long, but slightly bitter. takes some time for the acid to come out, but it is fairly well balanced. there is just no making up for the intense oak, surprising considering the age of this bottle. i didn't notice any signs decline, so i will try to give these some time for the oak to hopefully integrate more fully. could potentially go several points higher.  Tasted by ogres3 on 3/1/2011: Big fruit lots of glycerin typical Dan Phillips Henrys drive style but pretty good (6828 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 11/24/2010: Fairly typical aussie fruit bomb. Not outstanding but at least a high 80s. (4900 views)
Tasted by schway on 6/6/2010 & rated 78 points: Heavy, flabby, tired. (5687 views)
Tasted by pfruge on 9/6/2009 & rated 90 points: Coffee, cola. (6791 views)
Tasted by pfruge on 5/23/2009 & rated 91 points: Toasty, coffee, liquorice (7069 views)
Tasted by profiler54 on 5/10/2009 & rated 88 points: Big fruit bomb a typical aussi shiraz. It needs some time to soften the tannins. (7069 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 3/22/2009 & rated 88 points: Decanted and tasted, iniicialy smelt like dirty laundry, this blew off after 30 min or so, revealing very ripe, rich, jammy, heavy extracted dark fruits and oak that are big and intense. Detected no heat on the nose or palate, just lots of bang for the buck. (7087 views)
Tasted by MurphyCellar on 7/11/2008 & rated 91 points: Wonderfully balanced shiraz... deep berry fruit with some smoky/spice flavor and a silky, elegant finish. (7423 views)
Tasted by tthorn on 5/8/2008 & rated 88 points: Enjoyable enough, but not special. Blueberry, blackberry, cinnamon, and spice. Alcohol level isn't too high given it's an Aussie wine. (7904 views)
Tasted by atun53 on 3/29/2008 & rated 90 points: Patience paid off with this one. Lush dark fruit, smooth finish. Very happy to have one more. (8325 views)
Tasted by maderay on 2/3/2008 & rated 89 points: Excellent (7167 views)
Tasted by muellerkim on 1/16/2008 & rated 89 points: Glad I laid this down for a little while. (8729 views)
Tasted by GolferChris on 1/3/2008 & rated 90 points: Very strong value from Barossa Valley. Ripe, extracted fruit of dark plum, currant and blackberry with spice and black pepper on the finish. Juicy mouthfeel and good balance for the price. (8940 views)
Tasted by johndklopfenstein on 9/26/2007 & rated 89 points: Fruity good, why no cork (9327 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 8/31/2007 & rated 91 points: Wow. Great nose. Quite smooth. Very yummy! (9498 views)
Tasted by french16 on 8/29/2007 & rated 86 points: This is your typical big Aussie shiraz: jammy, hot and full bodied. Not my style because behind all the very ripe blackberry, plum, and chocolate it finishes with a sweetness which makes this wine not really balanced and after a glass, that's enough. (9460 views)
Tasted by mlgold2b on 8/12/2007 & rated 70 points: Extremely hot and unbalanced. (9100 views)
Tasted by topher18 on 7/18/2007 & rated 92 points: Beautiful deep red purple color, nice clarity.
I smell a hint of corn-on-the-cob at the very beginning, then floral and blueberry with a touch of heat.
Peppery black cherry and berry flavors, very nice. Multiple layers.
Very long finish. Big fruit balances the alcohol well. Tannins moderate and soft. (9230 views)
Tasted by cvvhrn on 3/17/2007 & rated 84 points: Nice little Shiraz. I was a bit leery about the almost 15% listed on the lable, but its not as aparent as I thought it would be. Hints of Saffron, fruit and spice on the nose, with green peppercorns and more fruit on the palate. The alcohol was apparent on the finish however. (8717 views)
Tasted by BSteffes on 12/1/2006 & rated 91 points: Wow! This is a heck of a Shiraz. I agree with WS that it needs to sit for a year or two to tone down the pizazz! However, I paired this with a pizza with crushed red pepper. It even overpowered that! Loads of fruit...loads of tannin. The nose is FULL of blueberry pie. A hint of oak on the nose as well. After about an hour...the more complex flavors like cola, spices, vanilla started to appear. This is going to be a staple wine for me. (9598 views)
Tasted by the rookie on 10/22/2006 & rated 91 points: I enjoyed this wine very much and plan to buy some more. It was a complex flavor. I noted a licorice and some dark berry flavors. there is a bit of a bite at the front, but I would like to see how this would age. My guess is that it will age well. Enjoy! (9634 views)
