Tasted by Tonythefish on 11/12/2014 & rated 89 points: See prior notes - I don't think this has a 10 year drinking window - really nice now and for 1-2 more years (1043 views)
Tasted by Tonythefish on 6/8/2014 & rated 90 points: Not as much chocolate as 2006 or 2007, but still very easy to drink and enjoy (1716 views)

Tasted by Tonythefish on 4/7/2013 & rated 92 points: A chocolate bar in a glass - and I dont even like chocolate. Smooth well rounded wine with vanilla and coffee overtones, but the chocolate comes through big time. John Caldwell success once again (2480 views)
Tasted by Jab_343434 on 2/20/2013 & rated 91 points: Great bottle of wine. Drinking well. Needs about a half hour to open up. (2606 views)

Tasted by Jasonbaker75 on 11/30/2012 & rated 100 points: I am a big fan of everything John Caldwell puts out. I saw this on the menu and I had to have it. Unfortunately at $117 a bottle I think I overpaid. That's what I get for ordering Napa wines in Texas. (1830 views)
Tasted by ltadd on 11/18/2012 & rated 85 points: Very enjoyable fruity full bodied wine (1583 views)
Tasted by corkscrews on 4/8/2012 & rated 90 points: Caldwell Vineyard-Rocket Science-Proprietary Red-Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot-Tannat-Petit Verdot-Napa Valley-California-2008-$39.98-A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark garnet in color. A full bodied kitchen sink blend, with blueberries, black currants, herbs and white pepper, finish of dusty chocolate and spice. This is the fifth vintage I have tried, all have been very good, cool bottle design. (2237 views)
Tasted by Tonythefish on 3/17/2012 & rated 89 points: Nice wine to finish evening with - hints of cocoa and dark chocolate with a new rounded finish (2060 views)

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.

2013 Vintage Notes:
"Napa Valley and virtually all of the North Coast of California (which obviously includes Sonoma and Mendocino Counties as well) has been on a qualitative tear since 2012. 2012 was a great vintage for nearly every varietal in North Coast California, but what is even more remarkable is that 2013 may turn out to be the finest vintage I have experienced in tasting North Coast varietals over the last 37 years. It's a game-changer in terms of the consistency of quality, the depth of quality, and the across-the-board excellence for so many wines." - Robert Parker
