Tasted by drwine2001 on 12/10/2023: Still fairly light yellow. Light to medium body. Sweet, bright lemon, herbal complexity, and fairly mineral. Difficult not to think of Chablis when you drink this. Excellent and great value. (1249 views)

Just gorgeous. Nice lemon acidity, excellent length and balance. Played nicely against salmon baked in a miso/mustard sauce. Can't go wrong with this! (1074 views) |
Tasted by WST on 9/24/2023: I finally found the proper venue to open this magnum! I love this vintage of Briords. Perfect with the crab boil, as one would expect. Nice mineral and saline, but a bit more fruit than most muscadet. Lemon peel and even some white orchard fruit. (1046 views)
Tasted by winchester-xi on 7/5/2022: Superb once it warmed up a bit. Showing few signs of development. (1942 views)
Tasted by rama on 6/17/2022: Expressive floral nose with hint of petrol? Oxidative sherry notes, pineapple, honey. Seems much older than 8 years, not in a good way. (1781 views)
Tasted by Personal Opinion on 6/14/2022: Developed. Subtle ox. Delicate honey nuances. Brine. Citrus. Smooth and filling..,balanced, envelopeing acid. Lightly browning apple and lime in finish. Good length. No complaints. Solid. Interesting. Enjoyable. I prefer a little less development with a little more pop and mineral in this varietal.. though awesome for 7+ years! Paired well with Garlic Buttered Prawns. (1631 views)
Tasted by drwine2001 on 5/15/2022: Pale yellow. Light weight. Bursting with zesty lemon, herbs, and limestone. Very Chablis-like. The quality and ageworthiness for the price are just beyond belief. Drink or give it another 10 years. (2198 views)
Tasted by blanquito on 5/3/2022: Enjoying my lone bottle of this tonight with broiled char, sauteed dino kale with garlic and lemon, and whole wheat couscous…. This is killer. Classic with salinity, sea breezes, stones mixed with lime juice, with a top note of honey. Bright and fresh as always, but with an extra gear and richness. Long. Wow+. (1767 views)
Tasted by Cote d'Or on 3/4/2022: Tasted over 3 hrs -translucent light-med gold -sweet faintly exotic gentle warm brown spice lanolin mature note -med/med+ acidity, med- weight faded ripe pear supported by a tangy spine finishing with a faint oxidative note -surprisingly this bottle seems a little tired (1059 views)
Tasted by Enfant sauvage on 1/21/2022: Love 2014 Briords. A lovely, cracking vintage. (1262 views)
Tasted by WST on 11/20/2021: Hospice Auction Wine Night (Samish Hill, Bellingham, WA): I love this vintage of Briords. Perfect with oysters, as one would expect. Nice mineral and salinity, but a bit more fruit than most muscadet. Lemon peel and even some white orchard fruit. (1582 views)
Tasted by Cote d'Or on 9/19/2021: Tasted over 2 hrs -translucent light med gold -honeydew melon -gentle med+ acidity, almost weightless paints the palate with a tangy mineral gentle fruit -fantastically in the zone now, just remarkable how this wine consistently can defy logic by simultaneously being gentle and intense (1597 views)
Tasted by Dave Mosko on 9/18/2021: Bottle 16 of 18 purchased on release. Very decent acidity as expected, but time has balanced this out a bit. There is more creaminess and less edge. Phenomenal w/ oysters. Certainly better than a horribly corked bottle on 2/20/20. (1442 views)
Tasted by WST on 9/11/2021: We hosted another wine dinner for charity: Still fresh and delicious. Very fruity for a muscadet, but still crisp and mineraled. I've purchased and consumed more of this wine than all my other muscadet combined. (1682 views)
Tasted by bhouk on 8/22/2021: Savory and a little sour but also with a touch of sweetness, especially on day one; loses a little sweetness but gains depth and balance on day two. Puts me in mind of eating gooseberries with my grandfather as a kid. (1449 views)
Tasted by winchester-xi on 6/28/2021: Lovely bottle of wine that punches well above its weight. (1485 views)
Tasted by sastewart on 3/6/2021 & rated 91 points: Salt air, oyster shell and white fruits come out as the wine warms in the glass. Maturing nicely, crisp profile with good acid framing white fruits and great minerality. I have 3 left and will consume them over the next few years. 91 points. (1524 views)
Tasted by gotfunk on 3/5/2021 flawed bottle: The worm met almost no resistance going into the cork, but the cork itself was firmly seated, without any signs of seepage. The Briords character was fully there, but marred by vegetal notes and faint TCA that got worse with air. (1470 views)
| Tasted by Frank Murray III on 1/15/2021: My final bottle. I haven't tried this vintage since my last bottle back in 2018, but after seeing some of Jeff's comment about oxidation, I figured it might be time to rip the cork and not complicate my wine choice last night for our dinner. In this bottle, there is no oxidation. The wine is clean and fresh, although it does remind me of my 2018 note when I referred to the wine as plumper. There is still some residual briny saline and the same citrus notes from 2018, too. Where the riper tones, the fleshier aspect comes through, is in both a perception of melon and some green banana. In total, there is still plenty of brine and acid in the core of the wine to keep it again, but Jeff's call-outs about oxidation and cork issues might inform some of you about whether to drink or store 2014s moving forward. | Tasted by Outplaying on 1/7/2021: My last of thirteen bottles. I opened one a month or so ago that was totally oxidized so I decided to stop holding these. I can’t decide if this has the tiniest bit of cork taint. It does have a slight nutty note. Still shows the saline and mineral I like, but not as much tart, citrus fruit that it used to show. This is still pretty enjoyable, but I liked it more a year or two ago. Given the corks aren’t the best quality, and that I seem to like these more within 4-5 years of the vintage, I am going to start drinking them, and the Clisson bottling, sooner going forward. | Tasted by Outplaying on 11/20/2020 flawed bottle: Oxidized (1738 views) |
Tasted by bhouk on 9/20/2020: Knitting together nicely. Brackish salinity, green fruit, and a hard to define flavor reminiscent of canned asparagus but not that (and better than that). Useful. (1693 views)
Tasted by drwine2001 on 8/6/2020 flawed bottle: Corked (2624 views)
Tasted by LW31 on 7/30/2020: Yum. Stupendous muscadet. Just perfect energy and balance with good fruit. Will go brilliantly for another decade. Perfect with soft shell lobsters and clams on the dock. (2050 views)
Tasted by Outplaying on 7/9/2020: I love this vintage of CdB. Unfortunately, I am down to a couple bottles. I should try to hold them.... (2041 views)
