Tasted by dagij on 8/7/2023 & rated 98 points: It is really impossible to give a quantitative note to this wine. Hell, I bought it 20+ years ago, paid with my savings, and waited until now. The cork disintegrated, but the wine was perfect. Deep amber color with only hints of amber at the rim. Dark core. Amazingly fruity nose displaying classic grenache tones of prunes, warm earth and licorice. no signs of tertiary tones! Full bodied, almost sweet attack. Fans out on the mid palate to include tones of tobacco, an iron like tone, and fine freshness. Very, to extremely long aftertaste. How do you rate a wine like this? Drunk with a Haut Brion 1986 and a Hermitage la Chapelle 1996 (Jaboulet) - both perfect condition - and this wine almost stole the show. The rating reflects the emotional side as well as the rational one (359 views)
Tasted by MC2 Wines on 11/2/2019: Q4 2910 Wine Club - Aged Spaniards (The Apt): Wine #1: Opened and decanted for prob 4.5 hours before being rebottled. Very spicy, lots of red fruits, comes across as very young even with all of that time. This was a wine that continued to evolve through the evening and I thought never really hit the peak. Would love to see it again in like 20 years. Built to last. I enjoyed it though.
One of my favorites of the tasting. (5 pennies) (2614 views)
Tasted by hongkongtom on 7/23/2017 & rated 95 points: Drank twice in 3 days from 5L and secondly standard bottle. Very floral, lot of wood at first but opened up nicely after a decent decant. (4347 views)
Tasted by DoubleD1969 on 5/6/2017 & rated 92 points: This followed a '94 Unico. The color has a redder tone than the Unico, more like ripe strawberries. On the nose, the L'Ermita seemed more delicate and more floral but in a restrained way. Palate was mostly smooth and round with notes of red currants and plums. Not overly complex at this stage but delicious nonetheless. (3899 views)
Tasted by Papies on 12/7/2016 & rated 94 points: 2016 Athens Wine Event (Paleo Reastaurant, Piraeus): Tasted Blind. We could not place it other than a feel that this was a modernist wine from a relatively warm climate. We erred on the US Syrah side.
Dark in color, dense. Still very young in a way and has quite a bit of evolution in the tank. The oak is well assimilated. Dark fruited, touch of earthy feel at times but lightest of touches to be honest. Round and supple tannin, good acidity and with an underlying rich core of fruit on the palate. Could have guessed cab sauv to be honest if it wasn't that we at least new these were only Rhone Grapes.. Pretty Solid 93-94

Interestingly checking a note we had on this wine in 2012 (Papies 93) we actually thought this was a super Tuscan. (4833 views)
Tasted by TOTOM on 10/25/2013 & rated 94 points: Long finish 13 sec. (6954 views)
Tasted by Papies on 12/8/2012 & rated 93 points: Beyond a Birthday dinner! (The Papies, Elizabeth St, London): Decanted and served, not sure if it adds much at this stage.
The noise points to super Tuscan, Bolgheri style wine. Fruit density, extract and lots of new oak still very present. Light floral elements. Feels very young and hopefully as it ages it will assimilate the oak. On the palate it is fresh and full, with lots of fruit, good extraction and has the stuffing to help it age for a long time. A touch of dryness on the finish from oak but other than that very good show. We could lose a lot of money betting this is a Bolgheri wine :). 92-93 for now, but we would suggest one waits a few more years. (6817 views)
Tasted by mariolanza on 10/7/2011 & rated 93 points: Strong, earthy and very tannic but even on the taste and will develop still. A legend? (5568 views)
Tasted by mariolanza on 12/24/2010 & rated 93 points: This wine was opened 1 hour before drinking over lunch. Fantastic classy aroma, lots of tobacco and dark berries. Couldn't get enough of it. Will last too. (5658 views)
Tasted by JamesSanders on 4/2/2010 & rated 88 points: Started off promising. Good intensity and complexity with what reminded me of a little Italian funk. Lots of wood that at first complimented the fruit. Air did this no favors, however. About 3 hours in, harsh wood tannins started to take over. I still thought it was OK. Jan declared it undrinkable and turned to a modest village burg from 2001, which is usually so not her style.

Still trying to figure out who gave me this. (5702 views)
Tasted by wineismylife on 12/1/2009 & rated 97 points: Dallas - A little hootch and some tender viddles on a Monday night (Dali Wine Bar, Dallas, TX): WIML97+

Tasted December 1, 2009 at an offline.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of fresh cut flowers, black berries, forest floor, melted black licorice, soapstone, tar and on and on and on. Every time I stuck my nose in the glass something else popped out! Flavors of black berries, Bing cherries, red currants, plums, licorice and on and on and on. Medium to bright acidity, medium to firm tannins, full bodied. Drink now with some air time or continue to hold. Should be a long lived wine. Stunning and my wine of the night. (5347 views)
Tasted by Employee500 on 12/1/2009 & rated 98 points: Dark and dense with ripe dark fruits (cassis, blackberries, dark cherry), forest floor, graphite, licorice, pencil lead, and loads of tannin and (for Priorato) decent acidity. Lafite-like and absolutely delicious, this one should age well for a long time.... (4186 views)
Tasted by KSC02 on 3/30/2009 & rated 95 points: This bottle showed a mildly corked influence. However it was still layored with rich aromas of bright fruit, chocolate, herbs and minerals. Balanced and silky in the mouth with a touch of minerality and chocolate on the finish. A very elegant wine. One can only wonder just how much it may have bloomed without the periphery influence of mild TCA. (4004 views)
Tasted by mimik on 3/27/2009 & rated 95 points: Montreal Wine Guy Weekend a la Quebecoise; 3/27/2009-3/28/2009 (Wentworth North-Vinaigre's brother's cottage): I can't believe I rated a slightly corked bottle 95 points but I'll stand by my score. This could have been a near perfect bottle had it been pristine. Lots of ripe cassis, spicy red plum and hints of blueberry. Waves of acidity and fresh red and blue fruit on the palate. Tannins are present but very well integrated, but make their presence and power known of the finish. Very elegant wine. Still enought stuffing to rate it a 95. Can't wait to taste an untainted bottle. (4839 views)

Vinos de España - Wines of Spain (Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior) | Wikipedia
Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.
