Tasted by Riaan on 3/15/2024 & rated 98 points: Judgement of Wimbledon share by Alastair.

Absolutely stunning. Doesn’t taste like champagne at all (a HUGE plus). No need to adjust score for awesomeness or drinking terroir. This is legitimately stunning!! Mature, but fresh, powerful. So intense and complex. I absolutely LOVE this wine. (266 views)
Tasted by jamesabdavis on 12/14/2023: Very dark colour
Caramel, fig, walnuts, apricots
Fresh and lively on the palate, nice acidity, with air this becomes quite full and complete on the palate. Fresh balanced finish.
Really delicious, wonderful champagne. (638 views)
Tasted by fcxj on 11/8/2023 & rated 90 points: Oxidative, Shao Xing wine aromatics. (955 views)
Tasted by BradE on 5/23/2021: Staggering plus. (4602 views)
Tasted by burgundy-panda on 11/22/2020 & rated 80 points: Well past the peak. The cork was coming out quite easily, and it had been reattached at some point of bottles life by metal wires.
Quite sherry kind of baked apple nose, low acidity snd fruit, almost like apple juice. Very few bubbles (4900 views)
Tasted by steinersing on 11/9/2019 & rated 92 points: Still quite attractive (6863 views)
Tasted by sdr on 6/25/2019 & rated 93 points: Mark’s bottle. This wine is strictly for necrophiliacs. The guys all liked it and the ladies all hated it. Ugly brownish dark gold, no bubbles, expresso nose. Dense, just alive with a slow pulse, barely enough acidity. Yet outstanding for ancient champagne. Obviously the precipice of drink ability for those who can appreciate the translation to the next world. (7140 views)
Tasted by fcxj on 3/26/2019 & rated 90 points: Lovely. (7510 views)
Tasted by FYC on 2/20/2019: Faint hiss when the cork was removed, intact. Color is medium amber. A faint tickle of effervescence on the palate. Mature profile of dried fruits and honey. Very nice acidity which increased with time. Lacked the complexity of a more lively and effervescent 69 a few months ago. Quite good but drink up! (4652 views)
Tasted by Bergstrom on 2/14/2019 & rated 96 points: Original disgorgement. Full of acid and life, but no bubbles. One of the best and highest ranked champagne-experiences of my life. Taste of baked lemon, nutty and with a really surprising amount of acidity left.
The wine looks deep amber colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig and vanilla. It tastes like baked lemon, fig, vanilla and almond. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity. (3906 views)
Tasted by fcxj on 12/16/2017 & rated 94 points: KC. Rich, mature and rounded wine. Amber hue, little effervescence, caramel and surprising concentration of fruit remains. (5718 views)
Tasted by BradE on 10/5/2017 flawed bottle: Trios of Dom Perignon: DOA. (6515 views)
Tasted by Bergstrom on 7/3/2017: Original disgorgement. Totally flat. Rich long taste. Nuts, burned butter, an extraordinary experience. Not for everyones taste. (7075 views)
Tasted by ricknat1 on 5/7/2017: super advanced, unenjoyable. (7282 views)
Tasted by BradE on 3/11/2017: A really spectacular bottle of 64 DP. Among the best I've ever had. Firing on all cylinders, and just a beauty. (7802 views)
Tasted by AV2012 on 12/27/2016: Original disgorgement. No bubbles left and the wine opens without a sound. Appealing to an enthusiast of mature wines and certainly for the label, history and what not, but not sure what I would made of it double blind. Some of these older bottles overdeliver, some are plain interesting, some are nothing special. (5567 views)
Tasted by The Vines That Bind on 12/1/2016 & rated 93 points: Dom Pérignon Dinner (Atara): Surprisingly fresh on the nose with young almond and some florals remaining. A little thinner than the '66. Still delivers full flavours on the palate with nice caramel. (5466 views)
Tasted by ricknat1 on 10/14/2016 flawed bottle: bad bottle (4038 views)
Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 10/2/2016: Yolanda's Birth Month Wines (Chagrin Falls): Not a proper bottle, perhaps. I still quite enjoyed it, but I like old Champagne's too. Golden in color. The nose is a bit oxidized, as one would expect, but I am not that sensitive to that. Nutty, some apple fruit still. Also some caramel. On the palate, there is still some fizz present. Nutty with good acidity and slight fruit. Probably not cellared perfectly, but its not dead yet. In any event, a real treat to try. Thanks Yolanda, you have held up better than this bottle did. (4538 views)
Tasted by BradE on 9/26/2016: Very tired, but not DOA. Fun to check out, but in the end dump bucket material. (3504 views)
Tasted by BradE on 6/9/2016: Very, very good. Disgorged in 1999. (4113 views)
Tasted by ricknat1 on 4/28/2016 & rated 97 points: loved it. No bubbles left but plenty of freshness and getting quite rich (4320 views)
Tasted by muchomaas on 4/28/2016 & rated 95 points: Fantastic after about 30 minutes in the glass. A tiny bit of whiskey barrel and toffee with great freshness and balance. (3884 views)
Tasted by BradE on 4/4/2016: This bottle was very advanced, dark color, but surprisingly drinkable. Old but not over the hill. (3872 views)
Tasted by RaphaelMalago on 3/5/2016 & rated 94 points: Impressive gold colour, no perlage. Intense nose with earth, mushrooms, yeast, brioche. Oxidative notes but all in place with great freshness. (3960 views)

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Click for a list of bestselling items from all of France.
Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
