Tasted by wine eng on 9/19/2015 & rated 94 points: Very balance, a lot of dark fruit, blackberry, cherry and currents with some clove in the background. (928 views)
Tasted by sedation (yellowgas) on 1/29/2010 & rated 90 points: a nice zinfandel, briary, peppery but oldly out of balance. we enjoyed this wine with a plate of cheeses and meats, it went together nicely. (2564 views)
Tasted by bistro on 9/10/2009 & rated 90 points: Better than I expected, strong dark fruit flavor but well balanced by tannins and acidity. The flavor sort of faded as the night wore on, and didn't noitceably improve with time, so might be past its prime. (2642 views)
Tasted by wicozani on 10/18/2008 & rated 91 points: This wine was absolutely singing last evening! A dark ruby-purple in the glass, the very aromatic nose and palate both featured very juicy bing/dark cherries, red currant, baking spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, clove) and vanilla. These were all very nicely integrated, with excellent supporting acidity and well-integrated tannins. The whole package made for one of the most delicious wines I've had this year! A restaurant purchase, I'm glad to have several bottles of this in my cellar. (2722 views)
Tasted by soyhead on 7/14/2008 & rated 92 points: nose- dark fruit, plus a whiff of acetone
mouth - delicious juicy red and dark fruit with subtle hints of oak, and yummy mouthwatering acidity. All kinds of juicy berries bouncing around on the midpalate with a good long finish. A delicious zinfandel. (2832 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson

Sonoma County

Mendocino County

Sonoma Valley

Sonoma County, California, is one of the most important winegrowing regions in the whole of the United States. Vines have been planted here since the 1850s and, apart from the inevitable hiatus brought about by Prohibition, the county's relationship with wine has been prolific and unbroken.

Viticulturally speaking, Sonoma County is divided into three distinct sections: Sonoma Valley, Northern Sonoma and Sonoma Coast. Each of these has its own AVA title and encompasses several sub-AVAs within its boundaries.
