Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 90.3 pts. and median of 91 pts. in 3 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by mwanasheria on 10/25/2014 & rated 91 points: Still in great shape even if already showing some signs of decline. The nose has just a whiff of oxidation amidst leather, tobacco, underwood. On the palates he same underwood, tobacco, ground coffee, very elegant. A nice afternoon drink. (552 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 5/11/2013 & rated 92 points: Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. charming mature black fruit, some tobacco and leather aromas. Like most tasters today, I immediately thought this from Bordeaux. Elegant and mature lack fruit flavors are well balanced with earthy elements. (2086 views)
Tasted by bestdamncab on 11/24/1990 & rated 88 points: Tasting of 11 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignons. With a big, rich, slightly closed nose, medium fruit and soft tannin in the mouth, slightly stemy but good, long finish. My #6 and Group tie #3. (705 views)

California

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
