Tasted by GEDC on 10/7/2013 & rated 91 points: It is hard to resist drinking this beauty, It just gets better with time. Had it last night with tagliatelle aglio olio & parmigiano reggiano excellent! (1637 views)
Tasted by GEDC on 7/14/2013 & rated 92 points: While still young has the elements that will make this beauty into a fine wine. I will try to wait, but it's hard to resist because they are drinking well at this young stage. (1869 views)
Tasted by farinas on 2/28/2013 & rated 92 points: Deep full body with some ruby tinges on the edges, delicious bouquet of spicy new oak, currants, and herbal tones, great entry with acid and tannin support and bit of heat, body is lush with sweet rasperries and a medium finish of blackberry. Argiano takes full advantage of the bouquet of Montalcino fruit with the lush body of Tuscan fruit. This is starting to show some age on the palate in the form of dustier tannins and dryer herbs.  Tasted by The Tourist on 12/30/2010 & rated 88 points: indian spices, leather, dark fruit and oak... layers of tannins, very long wine, not quite enough fruit makes it to the surface on this one and the oak is a little much for me. feel this will develop quite a bit still, will keep the others in the cellar for a while. (3685 views)
Tasted by iWineReport on 12/26/2010 & rated 91 points: Beautiful aromas of currant, blackberry, wet earth and Indian spices, with a perfumed floral undertone. Full-bodied, balanced and refined. Very long. (Drink 2010-2017) JD91 (3048 views)
Tasted by slywka7 on 10/24/2010 & rated 92 points: I had my doubts about this with a big whiff of leather and barnyard on the nose. The palate changed that with some nice dark fruits, licorice, herb and smoke. Needs time in the bottle but still drinking great. (898 views)
Tasted by hutch on 2/17/2009 & rated 88 points: Via: The Big Red Tour (Boston, MA): Nice spicy plum fruits on the nose. Very modern in style. Good. 87-89 (4405 views)
Tasted by Paul S on 11/21/2008 & rated 91 points: Argiano tasting (Wine What Else): My goodness, this was a Robert Parker monster of a wine. Opaque, dark, dark purple colour, almost tinged with black. Leather, meat and funk on the nose, along with a whiff of raw meat and a whole lot of dark fruits lurking menacingly behind the more savoury characteristics. After some time, a sweet, almost candy-like seam of liquorice and spice along with a liberal dash of black pepper started to emerge. The palate was dense, thick and muscular. Huge, almost monstrous in its aspect, it showed chewy, mouth-coating tannins, tons of rich dark fruit (a little indistinct at the moment), cracked white pepper and meaty funk. The finish was quite a bit longer than the 2003 Solengo, with a clean lift from underlying acidity, more raw meat and a final coating of tannins on the teeth. Not sure I really like the style of this wine, but it was decent enough and will get better with time. (4018 views)
Tasted by Wrighty on 5/17/2008 & rated 90 points: Decanter Great Italian Fine Wine Encounter (Landmark Hotel, London): Subtle nose, although hints of farmyard - tight palate. Structured, packed finish. (4489 views)
