Community Tasting Notes (average 87.1 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 55 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by KristianT on 1/24/2014 & rated 81 points: Yikes... So over the top. Way too alcoholic. Fun to serve blind, but way too much. I doubt that Mollydooker will ever take my fancy. (850 views)
Tasted by j_me on 11/6/2012: - Garnet color - Needed to decant as it was a bit harsh early on. (1941 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 7/11/2012 & rated 89 points: Pepper, spice and delicious fruit ... Go on decant for an hour and enjoy with seared tuna. (1782 views)
Tasted by MGBJR on 3/29/2012 & rated 89 points: I agree with the chocolate theme, also some heat and get the syrupy comments. The missus liked it. Me too. (1932 views)
Tasted by Colia on 2/11/2012 & rated 89 points: Still totally black and dense. Tannins are huge but soft, the fruit is a little muddled, but chocolate covered dried blueberries with a cup of doffee is pretty close. The finish is a little bitter. (2013 views)
Tasted by tcarter on 1/15/2012: Big jammy flavor coupled with leathery, earthy tones. Drinking great right now but probably best to drink this year. (1610 views)
Tasted by ADiamond on 6/9/2011 & rated 89 points: Big fruity, jammy wine. It went extremely well with a spicy Turkish meal. As long as you are selective as to what meal, it needs a meal, to drink this with you will love it. (1696 views)
Tasted by Mcqueen on 5/6/2011 & rated 89 points: Opened up nicely after about 20 minutes. Very nice body, had nice rich mouthy flavor. Would recommend at it's price. (1857 views)
Tasted by ADiamond on 5/3/2011 & rated 88 points: A real fruit bomb, jammy, a ton of spice and boy is it hot Not a sipping wine, drink this wine with a heavy, rich meal and both will be enjoyable (1747 views)
Tasted by powrsurg on 4/21/2011 & rated 89 points: Spicy as usual. Fruity, with a strong pepper (2082 views)
Tasted by bugdoced on 2/5/2011 & rated 79 points: Others seemed to like this more;for me it was a too rich fruit bomb (1975 views)
Tasted by Racer117 on 12/9/2010 & rated 76 points: After reading various tasting notes below, I've got ask myself "when does blueberry syrup and gasoline come off as 'smooth' ?" Ok, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration but this thing has 16%abv and I get every last tenth of a percent of it. Its not necessarily bad, hence the 76 point score, but its just a bit overwhelming. Somewhere buried in there is a touch of pleasent earthiness and there's various fruit flavors but..... 76 points. (2200 views)
Tasted by wineywhites on 11/23/2010 & rated 89 points: Very smooth. Black fruits, still has some spice. Highly extracted without being grapey. (2317 views)
Tasted by scottmlew on 8/23/2010 & rated 89 points: Within minutes of opening the alcohol burns off and reveals deep plummy jam with chocolate and some anise. (2565 views)
Tasted by fingers on 3/27/2010 & rated 86 points: Very dark ruby, 95% saturated. Large nose of peppermint, licorice, and candy. Unctuous, fat, and spicy on the palate. (4+10+15+7) = 86 (2819 views)
Tasted by brigcampbell on 3/27/2010 & rated 86 points: Poker VI - We're Drinking F$#! Merlot (WCC): Brickish color. Heat and not much fruit on the nose, suprising considering the super syrpy sweet palate. (3279 views)
Tasted by Adonisd1956 on 12/20/2009 & rated 81 points: I gotta say, I have been fond of the Mollydooker wines, but I found this to be sweet and syrupy. Very hot with lots of alcohol. I have had this before, but this time I did not like it. I guess my palate has changed.... (3035 views)
Tasted by OneLastSyrah on 12/11/2009: 16% ABV. Deep dark appearance. Overtly fruity on the nose and palate with rich sweet plum and berry fruit with an undertone of mocha. This was fairly good as the last wine of the evening with a chocolate dessert. Hedonistic and in your face, if that kind of thing suits you. (3015 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 11/1/2009 & rated 90 points: Dark as night and very aromatic. Smells of cocoa, ripe cherries, dusted leather. Full and soft on the palate, fruit forward with toasted jammy berries and cherries. Theres a twitch of cranberry, dates. The finish lingers. A very rich wine with notable complexities. (3157 views)
Tasted by galewskj on 9/28/2009 & rated 84 points: Kind of enjoyable. Lush, slightly sweet, a bit cloying and jammy. The finish is out of balance and turns super sweet. Honestly it doesn't taste much different from many other Australian wines that are too thick, fruity and lacking acidity. (3203 views)
Tasted by Macki on 9/1/2009: Could taste some merlot in there somewhere, but otherwise totally jammy and hot. (3545 views)
Tasted by Lewis on 8/27/2009 & rated 85 points: the main character of this wine is alcohol, from nose to tougue, the scent is dominated by alcohol and the added layer of complexity is still alcohol, with 16% it's obviously haevy in body, it maybe funny but the overall taste is quite odd because the alcohol distracted other elements, it comes worse after 1 hour of decant (my mistake), thinking about how to consume the other bottle in my cellar... (3460 views)
Tasted by paradigmshiftfitness on 8/16/2009 & rated 90 points: SMOOOOOOTH, Is my first impression. Poured right into the glass and their going into my olfactory lobe was hints of earthy mushroom, cherry, strawberry, and subtle blueberry. Once in the confines of the mouth, strawberry for sure makes its presence, we love the musty attic taste(Angel has that on the nose as well). Not very tannic. Leaves a subtle yet "I'm here and you like it" aftertaste. (3420 views)
Tasted by Quarked on 8/13/2009 & rated 83 points: Too much alcohol the first night, and too much of everything else the second. For the price, I was really disappointed. (3331 views)
Tasted by Adonisd1956 on 7/14/2009 & rated 81 points: Really sweet, and almost syrupy. I used to be a big fan of these Australian fruit bombs, but this was just too much tonight. (3504 views)
