Tasted by Snag One on 5/26/2015 & rated 95 points: I went to the cellar and grabbed this bottle without a lot of thought. We PnP this wine during dinner after a 2005 Quintessa. This wine was stellar. Deep dark red tone. Wonderfully deep nose with essence of cassis, blackberries, toast and peppers. The balance of this wine was terrific with subtle tannins and just enough acidity to help with the mouthfeel and finish. And what a terrifically long finish with layers of red ripe figs, jam, black currant, toast and a hint of mint. I will definitely decant the other Forman bottles in my cellar when it's time. This wine should peak in 3-5 years. (594 views)
Tasted by oropeza on 12/29/2014 & rated 95 points: Red and black fruit in front, moving wonderfully into earthiness, loam, herbs, spices, just the right amount of tannin... absolutely wonderful, a treat (1329 views)
Tasted by H Crenshaw on 8/2/2014 & rated 93 points: Decanted for 2 hours. Nice balance to this wine. Fruit forward with firm tannin still on the finish. Drinking well now if you have it with food. Otherwise let it rest for a couple more years. (1697 views)
Tasted by JGinMO on 3/9/2014 & rated 94 points: Still a bit young, at first tannins overpowered fruit, but over 60 mins really blossomed. I'd give this 2+ more yrs! but killer stuff (3026 views)
Tasted by UTPK on 2/15/2014: Much more straight and narrow than the Ridge StCruz served before. Very fresh and lively. Not heavy at all, rather elegant to be a US Cab. Probably a bit closed. (2994 views)
Tasted by Christoffer78 on 8/29/2013 & rated 95 points: A wonderful wine! The 2007 Forman Cabernet Sauvignon is sheer power combined with elegance and structure. The palate offers up an abundance of lovely fruit adjoined by chalk, subtle led pencil and nicely integrated oak. The palate is full bodied and perfectly balanced. Acidity, oak, tannins and fruit are all combined into a harmonious whole. There is a beautiful texture to be found, but the overall impression is that of a wine which is fully open and drinks perfectly. However, you will have to wait a few more years to see signs of aging - the 2007 Forman is still to be considered as young. Further to this, it seems as though Ric Forman has said a cordial good bye to Mr Brett. Compared to a 2001 Forman tasted a while ago, this effort is perfectly clean with very few signs of brett. The gauze bandage is gone! (4426 views)
Tasted by bonedoc on 8/16/2013 & rated 94 points: A little heat, which blew off after 15 min. Medium concentration of sweet dark napa fruit along the bitter chocolate and espresso profile. The last glass was the best, this will go a while. (3545 views)
Tasted by jeffm_fla on 2/18/2013: We were ambivalent. I thought it was a little off-putting with a streak of green bell pepper, but my wife didn't get that at all and thought more chocolate. I would buy again to be sure. (4452 views)
Tasted by silton on 2/9/2013 & rated 93 points: Followed over 2 days. At its peak, a really outstanding and well balanced wine. Hold. (3203 views)
Tasted by llink on 8/29/2012 & rated 93 points: Nicely in the zone. Currants, cedar and olives on the nose. Rich palate showing refined but prominent tannins, ripe fruit and impecable balance. Still a little primary, showing more fruit, needs some time to settle down and gain palate complexity. Gains a more velvety texture as it gets air and warms up. Long, luxurious finish. (4481 views)
Tasted by RockinCabs on 7/10/2012 & rated 94 points: Nose: Gorgeous Blackberry and Cherry Perfume accented by slightly smokey sweet oak and notes of truffle and cedar. Very nice nose that is perfumed and vivacious. Palate: More of the same here. Very elegant palate with silky smooth tanins and layers of Plum, Blackberry, Cherry and Currants. The Oak give the wine vanilla, caramel and chocolate notes and the cedar notes are very nice. Finish: Silky and quite long this gets complex on the finish. This wine should age very gracefully and grow more outstanding over time. (3911 views)
Tasted by Jeff Leve on 5/2/2012 & rated 93 points: Forman Cabernet Sauvignon Ė This Bordeaux blend helped create a true, California expression of Bordeaux wine, as itís not over the top. Itís polished, long and balanced with the right amount of ripe, but not over ripe berries, oak and acidity. (3931 views)
Tasted by StainedGlass on 4/2/2012 & rated 93 points: A premium California cab that actually lives up to its price thanks to a generous bouquet, balanced tannins and rich but not cloying fruit. Drinking well now, but it has plenty of life ahead of it. (3088 views)
Tasted by ChadRS on 3/31/2012 & rated 93 points: Fragrant nose, blackberry and currants, deep purple color, soft plush and mouth coating, smooth rounded tannins, finish with some chocolate. Great wine. Reminds me a bit of Caymus. (3003 views)
Tasted by bobpsi on 1/8/2012 & rated 93 points: Expressive nose of black currants, pommegranite, cedar, and cocoa. Medium plus body of cassis, dark cherry, baking spice and herbs. long smooth cocoa finish. (3316 views)
Tasted by Niagara on 12/31/2011 & rated 91 points: What a QPR ... Nice wine, reasonably priced. A real rarity in the Napa wine world. (3402 views)
Tasted by Davebk59 on 10/30/2011 & rated 91 points: Rich dark fruit, earthiness, espresso, somewhat jammy, but the acohol level wasn't obvious. Very enjoyable. (2440 views)
Tasted by Davebk59 on 10/22/2011 & rated 93 points: Opened in the afternoon and drank over a period of 7 hours. Found this to be a very nicely balanced wine that opened up over the course of the day. Last glass had more dark fruit, earthiness, and better mouthfeel than a bottle of 07 Cakebread that was also open. I didn't find the tannins overpowering in either wine, but the Cakebread had a more pronounced vanilla flavor than the Forman. As much as i enjoy The 07 Cakebread, i found the Forman to be a better wine to my palate. (3917 views)
Tasted by East of Napa on 8/9/2011 & rated 90 points: drank with tim for wine glass rack. very nice (4207 views)
Tasted by HBvino on 7/4/2011 & rated 92 points: Floral aroma. Nice bright red color carried a sweet collection of just ripened fruit and a hint of olive. (4200 views)
Tasted by Watchaholic on 6/25/2011 & rated 89 points: Nice, too early, I should have let it sit some more.... (4343 views)
Tasted by sjdoc on 5/6/2011 & rated 92 points: nice even wine. not overbearing on the nose or taste like some other 07's. (4733 views)
Tasted by KCProper on 4/11/2011 & rated 93 points: 2011 World Tour Tasting (801 Chophouse): Cassis, cinnamon, vanilla and black plum all wrapped around a tannic finish. Needing several years. (5589 views)
Tasted by JDB on 4/6/2011 & rated 89 points: not as good as the last bottle that I thought was great. Shutting down ? Everything was muted (2436 views)
Tasted by llink on 11/11/2010: Closed at first, then revealing some currants, spice, and a rich vanilla oak nose that is borderline too much. Big flavors, but with energy and tartness to hold them together. Finishes with lively and very fine tannins, and a recurrence of the rich flavors. Long finish. Really strong 2007 and just a bit too much today, but may settle down into a really great wine. (5747 views)
