Tasted by wintergreen on 5/7/2014 & rated 90 points: nose: honeycrisp and fuji apples, warm bread crust, asian pear, ripe white peaches.

palate: there's a lot of fruit here...oh my!. nectarines, white grapes, tropical fruits like papaya and mango, tangerines, even a hint of raspberries. finish is slightly bitter and yeasty and prickly, and fades slowly while the acidity asserts itself.

Tasted by Motz on 4/13/2014: Serviceable, but far from a drink of choice. (807 views)
Tasted by wineglas on 11/29/2013 & rated 73 points: Super sweet candied fruit. Lacks acidty and undrinkable to me. (1015 views)
Tasted by indiscriminate palate on 4/23/2013 & rated 85 points: Good. simple. Off-dry strawberry. Pretty. (1477 views)
Tasted by alex.lewis on 2/10/2013 & rated 92 points: To me, this wine proves Korbel can transcend its reputation and make great wine. Strawberries and cream and biscuits, dried oats and a bit of lemon and grapefruit zest. Ages well in the bottle. 5-7 years after bottling seems to be a sweet spot. (1595 views)
Tasted by kevjenw on 12/5/2012 & rated 84 points: Liked it more the first time. This time I did not really like the fruit (maybe strawberry and green apple). It has medium acid, semi-dry, with a med-short finish. Buy again: Maybe for a relatively inexpensive bubbly. (1406 views)
Tasted by baseballvino on 12/3/2012 & rated 87 points: Wine was good, company made it special. (1154 views)
Tasted by cucycling on 8/12/2012 & rated 84 points: For a inexpensive mass produced bubbly...not bad (1373 views)
Tasted by Serge Birbrair on 4/1/2012: Alcoholic and disjoint. Wasn't my favorite but considering this was the first bottle brought by the new young members, the starting point is less important than where they end up.
I hope the last bottle of sparkling they drink on this Earth will be very very far from Korbel :) (1427 views)
Tasted by warness on 12/26/2011 & rated 82 points: This is a very poor quality sparkling. It has some nice strawberry, rhubarb aromas. Lots of stewed fruit tones on the palate, but it gets overwhelmed by the alcohol. I would never recommend this or buy it again. There are so many other sparkling wines that offered to try that are way better. Avoid unless you're options are limited (1483 views)

Tasted by avp on 9/8/2011: Stewed red fruit nose, rhubarb, with some nuttiness, leather and bread.
Dry and refreshing with the lively tartness I associate with Korbel. Some lactic notes and slight herbaceousness. Decent length.
This was actually quite nice. A bit strange, a bit awkward and somehow sympathetic. Well, it's an interesting blend. (1922 views)
Tasted by redlegs on 5/2/2011: Not too sweet, nice fruit, nice mouth feel. We liked it. (1970 views)

Tasted by Martin Redmond on 1/14/2011 & rated 84 points: Consistent with prior reviews - A blend of Pinot Noir, Chenin Blanc and Gamay with 1.5% dosage. Pinkish salmon color. On the nose I picked up strawberries, wet stone. On the palate strawberries, touch of minerals and a bit of Fuji apples. What is lacks in complexity, it makes up for in straight forward enjoyment. Short finish.

Tasted by BrandrB on 10/26/2010 & rated 87 points: Surprisingly good! Methode Champenoise blend of Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Gamay, and Chenin Blanc. Pale pink color with medium sized bubbles. Light berry and mineral nose. Strawberries, apple minerals, and a very restrained dosage on the palate. Medium length finish. Nice complexity for both the price and brand. My favorite offering from Korbel – this does quite well with a little bit of age (I’ve been storing this particular bottle for two years). Incredible value at $10 – the best value I can think of for sparkling rosé and definitely over-delivers at this pricepoint. In my experience, this is definitely the best of the Korbel lineup.  Tasted by djdaqm on 11/20/2009 & rated 82 points: CES Lab Wine Tasting #4 (Home): Lovely off-pink color. Very little complexity in this wine in terms of smell and taste. Crisp acidity, short finish, no nuance. But enjoyable enough for what it is. (2917 views)
Tasted by tommers207 on 1/18/2009 & rated 84 points: Got laid off yesterday so I decided to keep the chin up and open up some bubbly for breakfast. Nice salmon color. Nose of strawberries and wet stone. Light but decent mouthfeel. Opens up with minerally stawberries and some apple joins in the middle. Not much of a finish. Fairly dry with just a touch of sweetness. (2757 views)

Tasted by wicozani on 5/10/2008 & rated 87 points: This was very nice for the price, with nice fruit, tiny bubbles, some yeast, and a pleasant nose. It also was moderate on the alcohol content, which helped to avoid a headache following on the heels of another bottle. Will search out again. (3043 views)

Tasted by hutch on 2/3/2008 & rated 86 points: So wine enthusiast gave this 90 points a while back. And I'm trying to fight thru the tendency to become a wine snob. Hence, tried this bottle during a very disapointing Super Bowel. And I'm pleasantly surprised. Not 90 points surprised. But this over delivers on it's $10 price point. Simple, but without any of the cheap charactistics that you get from, well, cheap sparklers. I would have no problem serving this at an event which required a basic quaffing sparkler. (3155 views)

Rosé Blend

"Rosé blend" can mean a blend of just about any varietals since the designation comes from the resulting color of the wine. (maybe someone can update this article with the traditional blends for different regions). In Bordeaux France for example some Rose's are deeply coloured with a blend of Merlot and Cabenet Franc bled off the Vats at an early stage - see for example Chateau De Sours for a good example of this.

California

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
