Tasted by tequilajake on 12/24/2014 & rated 91 points: Wonderful '05 Napa blend. Didn't hit as high as the others at the tasting (05 Chappellet Signature, 05 Silver Oak Napa) but deserved to be there for sure. (534 views)
Tasted by Goose1943 on 11/14/2014 & rated 91 points: Wow!!

Tasted by nav2u on 2/28/2014 & rated 90 points: Dark garnet with some bricking. Dark fruits, bell peppers, and herbs on the nose. Cassis, cherries, and peppers on the palate. Great balance. Very enjoyable. Even better on day 2. (1541 views)

Tasted by Aparritz on 8/17/2013 & rated 91 points: 2 hour decant. Tannin gone but what remained was smooth, creamy, dark fruit. Complex and long lasting. Classic napa meritage/Bordeaux blend. Conn creek continues to impress. (1953 views)

Tasted by NEDoc on 2/4/2013 flawed bottle: Even flawed, there was clear character strongly influenced by cab, but just couldn't get past the oxidized nature of the bottle. (2330 views)
Tasted by disklar on 1/30/2013 & rated 93 points: Wow... Nothing really jumped out...but really really good. (1868 views)
Tasted by macawmom&dad on 12/9/2012 & rated 90 points: Excellent meritage blend. Balanced, nice fruit and some tannins. (1613 views)
Tasted by CarpeVinoDiem on 11/30/2012 & rated 89 points: No notes taken.
Decanted 1 hr, then add'l 1 hr.
Looks: Good dark red '06 color. Perfect cork. Tiny micro sediment.
Nose: Initial from bottle before decanting came across sweet red cherry fruit like a Pinot Noir.

1 hr decant: Nose still Pinot Noir-esque. Nice red fruits with a touch of black fruits added in. A little bit of the St. Helena herb to this one and muted eucalyptus. Elivette Spring Mountain lovers will enjoy the style.

After 2 hrs: Nose evaporated a bit, and later came back around. As well, this opened up nicely but no tannins to speak of.

After 2.5 hrs the fruit left the building.

Recommend decant this 2 hrs and then drink within 1 hr (in case it vanishes on you as well).

Worked perfectly with sweet beef ribs.

The best Conn Creek I have had (great '05 year), but the first time in a Long time I have had a wine ghost away on me like this did.

Drink up.

Tasted by AllRed on 3/24/2012 & rated 90 points: 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Rick's & Cris'): Garnet color. Aromas of red fruit, but it's also quite green and even weedy. Medium- to full-bodied, with herbal red fruit flavors on the palate. Guessed domestic CF-heavy blend. (2130 views)

Tasted by emf on 7/9/2011: Enjoyed by all at birthday celebration. This has aged well, lots of dark fruit on the nose. Medium bodied, with dark plum and dark cherries. Tannins were minimal but the finish was smooth. (3122 views)
Tasted by neurovino on 5/9/2011 & rated 90 points: Juicy fruit, but restrained and delicate. It's a nice wine, but I'd like it to be a little more lush and for the finish to last a little longer. (3431 views)
Tasted by acordell on 5/5/2011 & rated 94 points: Notes of chocolate and black fruit. Well balanced. Silky smooth. Excellent now. (3608 views)
Tasted by AMM3RD on 3/16/2011 & rated 89 points: This wine is just fine. It does not do anything right or wrong. Fruit is okay, had a slight greenness or bitterness that misses on the finish. Next 87

3/22/11...Has been corked and left on the counter for 6 nights, this has held up very well and even improved a great deal. Ripe fruit without the greenness or bitterness. Smooth balanced finish, worth a few extra points. 89 (3693 views)
Tasted by MR.CG on 1/6/2011 & rated 89 points: not worth the money, very flat not much finish (3888 views)

As such, this is used worldwide, whether for wines from Bordeaux, Meritages from California and Canada, some Super-Tuscan wines etc.

California

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
