Tasted by murphsmurf on 12/19/2020 & rated 84 points: Held up really well for this long. Smooth, and the structure was pretty rich. Nose has died down some. Good sipping wine still (684 views)
Tasted by HonorAmerica on 8/26/2014 & rated 86 points: decent (3705 views)
Tasted by 4wdave on 2/25/2013 & rated 89 points: Just a nice, tasty Zin (4476 views)
Tasted by Jynkster on 1/9/2013 & rated 84 points: Thinned out. Hollow for the Zinfandel in have had before. But some bright fruit here and there. Nose short uneventful. Should have drunk 2 years ago (4647 views)
Tasted by cardinalfanrc on 6/22/2012 & rated 87 points: Good big classic zin. Buy again for 12 ish. (5091 views)
Tasted by scottmlew on 4/8/2012 & rated 89 points: Very fruity yet adequately complex. Great QPR. (4549 views)
Tasted by WDSteers on 2/20/2011 & rated 83 points: insipid (4062 views)
Tasted by mblecher on 2/18/2011: Gail brought from World Market. Full bodied, nice big fruit, balanced, dark color. (1767 views)
Tasted by xtopher.brandt on 1/22/2011 & rated 86 points: An average zinfandel, nothing special. (3451 views)
Tasted by williamswhine on 11/13/2010 & rated 92 points: Really enjoyed this bottle; especially for the price. Great time to drink. Dark purple color, nice nose, medium-full bodied. Great house wine. (1815 views)
Tasted by twinmaple on 10/22/2010 & rated 86 points: Solid wine-- light-medium bodied with nice fruit balanced by a zingy core of acidity. Not the extract or "boom boom pow" of the big boys, but quite a decent quaff. (4096 views)
Tasted by Lobonick on 9/18/2010 & rated 90 points: Elegant and refined while still being fruit-driven. This wine was preferred at dinner to several theoretically better wines. (1711 views)
Tasted by macker100 on 8/8/2010 & rated 89 points: Nice nose of mulberry and cherry figs. Palate very smooth with elegance. Flavors of cherry liquorice, vanilla, and boysenberry. Finish was solid. (1796 views)
Tasted by Tommarch on 7/10/2010: Connell dinner (1234 views)
Tasted by wadcorp on 6/2/2010: Cline has always put out a reasonably good zinfandel. It'd been a while since we had the Ancient Vines & it was nice to revisit it. Deep colour, with notes of currant, blackberry, and some nice earthiness & black pepper. Don't think you're getting a big, in-your-face zin here. This one has some nuance & won't knock you 'side the head like some of the others you might be thinking about. (4692 views)
Tasted by RedLoverJim on 5/30/2010 & rated 88 points: Full bodied zin with nice fruit and some spice. Not as bold as you might expect from a Zin, but a good value and good for cook outs as a good crowd pleaser. Drank from 3L. (4405 views)
(4672 views)
Tasted by ckinv368 on 4/4/2010: Served with Easter dinner---ham, potatoes & gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, ambrosia, and dinner rolls---nice fruit bouquet, but still with enough fortitude to stand up to the salty ham and gravy (1972 views)
Tasted by djreme on 4/1/2010 & rated 86 points: Nice middle of the week wine (4563 views)
Tasted by jcarman on 3/5/2010 & rated 90 points: Thanks for the tip Charlie! Opened a double magnum of this 2007 on a recent trip with 5 couples. It was a great hit, with everyone asking how they could get more of it. It is a true price performer. (2252 views)
Tasted by walterhpdx on 2/20/2010 & rated 86 points: Blackberry, black currant, and plum notes. More like a cabernet, not a zin. (4911 views)
Tasted by 330america on 1/30/2010 & rated 88 points: Full-bodied, drinkable, nothing remarkable a value at the price point. (5235 views)
Tasted by Rini Das on 1/27/2010 & rated 84 points: Blah! (1252 views)
Tasted by Scharper on 1/22/2010 & rated 90 points: Very complex with a big finish. As stated, it's definitely odd at uncorking, but it settles down quite well (1942 views)
Tasted by islandpotter on 1/14/2010 & rated 89 points: Great for the price. We keep buying this one (2255 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
