On the palate however the wine really showed it was corked. Also without being corked the wine would have been too old. (3447 views) | | | Tasted by troger on 12/25/2009 & rated 92 points: A really excellent wine. I decanted for about 4 hours and it showed its age beautifully with a nice rib roast. The cork broke in half but I was able to extract it. Had a nice rusty hue to it and some wonderful barnyard types of flavors. One of the nicest old Bordeauxs I have tasted. Probably near the end of its life so I was lucky to catch it. (4644 views) |

As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way.
