Tasted by mdmcgonigal on 11/30/2012 & rated 90 points: Spicy blackberry nose and flavors. Very nice for the age and price! (1959 views)
Tasted by River Rat on 7/18/2010 & rated 89 points: This one was a fruit explosion. Rich, yummy, fruity... Went well with the blackberry port reduction on our duck. Real well for that matter. (2840 views)
Tasted by gutt22 on 2/13/2010: 15.1% alcohol. Jammy black fruit. Soft, plush wine with great mouth feel. A perfect wine to drink with cold-weather foods. A- (2980 views)
Tasted by gutt22 on 1/1/2010: 15.1% alcohol. So juicy and brambly, with great fruit and spice. Very pleasant to drink. Tremendous value. A- (3065 views)
Tasted by gutt22 on 11/26/2009: 15.1% alcohol. Really tasty, fruit bomb of a Zin. Briary nose of black fruit. Ripe in the mouth, with jammy black fruit, just enough acidity, and a strong finish. Took on a touch of port-like notes on the nose as it stayed open. Short-term consumption but delightful for it. B+/A- (3132 views)
Tasted by green-steve on 7/16/2009 & rated 87 points: Nice red-purple "Zin" colored wine. Red fruits abundant on the nose; brambly fruit, cherries, spice/pepper on the palate; decent acidity, fine tannins, medium finish - this was a "light on it's feet" easy drinking Zin. Held up well over 3 nights - overall a pleasant bottle. (2051 views)
Tasted by joraesque on 6/10/2009 & rated 85 points: Sweet & raisiny. (1984 views)
Tasted by Frank Murray III on 4/27/2009: I really dug this wine a lot. In fact, I liked it more than the 2007 Novy Papera which we drank right next to it (and I wonder, gulp, of how much Papera fruit went into the RRV bottling!!!???!!). Juicy and lively with lots of zin-like fruit---raspberry, strwaberry and a good underpinning of flavor. For the zin fan, this is a real nice showing. (2072 views)
Tasted by VinoPKM on 4/25/2009 & rated 88 points: Zins of Spring (Wine Exchange- Orange, CA): Nose was very peppery and fruit. This was a good wine- very easy drinking. (2989 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
