Drinking superbly now. (3028 views) | | Tasted by StewartWent on 8/30/2014 & rated 89 points: I wonder where this is from? Plush, super soft tannin, a little game. Really just what you'd expect from good quality CDR. (3098 views) | | Tasted by UTPK on 6/27/2014: Great showing, sweet fruit, very good qpr (1746 views) | | Tasted by UTPK on 4/28/2014: Great bottle for what it is. Seems to be in a good phase from my cellar. Much better than last year. (1733 views) | | Tasted by UTPK on 3/24/2014: same as before (1746 views) | | Tasted by UTPK on 3/7/2014: This bottle was a bit boring, somewhat tired fruit? Last bottle was very good, so perhaps my palate was tired instead of the bottle... (1204 views) | | Tasted by UTPK on 11/17/2013: Same as before (1374 views) | | Tasted by UTPK on 8/28/2013: Totally open and ready now. Harmonious dark medium bodied fruit with good balance. (1464 views) | | Tasted by Yagil on 7/19/2013 & rated 85 points: not impressing when tasted short time after uncorking, but after few long hours it becomes Ok as Cote du Rhone, bit dry, some secondary aromas, med fruitiness, nice finish. Good as vin de table. (1322 views) | | Tasted by CWilliam on 5/24/2013: Didn't take notes - for price great QPR and went well with ribs. 90 for this tasting. Was better than prior bottle. (1471 views) | | Tasted by Bigatlwineguy on 4/30/2013 & rated 85 points: Given the reputation I expected more (1514 views) | | Tasted by CWilliam on 4/24/2013 & rated 88 points: Good mid-week wine. Did not take good notes. (1288 views) | | Tasted by UTPK on 3/31/2013: Same as before. (1199 views) | | Tasted by Doug Fir on 12/18/2012 & rated 88 points: Nice garrigue and violet aromas. Medium weight on the palette, with a mostly smooth but lightly choppy texture. Very floral, with berries, herbs, and a bit of cedar flavor. Reminded me of a top of the line Cotes du Rhone. (1276 views) | | Tasted by godx on 9/8/2012 & rated 85 points: Bill's Summer Garden Offline (Vancouver, BC): No formal notes. Simple and well balanced with good fruit and a perfect wine to sip on while dominating the field in bocce. Good. (2278 views) | | Tasted by Matt T on 9/1/2012 & rated 84 points: I am a huge fan of Pegau CDP and tend to think Rhone table wines provide some of the best value in the world. But this is not Pegau CDP nor do I think this represents very good value for the price. Pretty thin on the palate without much complexity. Shortish on the finish. The one interesting element that emerged from this bottle after about an hour is a fair amount of animal hair/funk. While I tend to enjoy a little bit of this in a CDP, in a table wine without body, complexity, or finesse, it came off as more of a flaw. This is drinkable wine, but should not be confused with the real McCoy. (1714 views) | | Tasted by UTPK on 8/28/2012: Same as before, good everyday drinker, sweet fruit, low complexity (1904 views) | | Tasted by Esteban on 7/17/2012 & rated 90 points: Beau fruit, bel équilibre. On retrouve la grenache mais dans une version plus retenue. Un cdp accessible. Un très bel accord avec les côtelettes de porc aux épices et à l'érable. (1766 views) | | Tasted by CWilliam on 7/11/2012 & rated 89 points: Decanted for 30 minutes & then had with grilled chciken. Very tasty. Did not take notes but I enjoyed the wine more than the last time. No degredation in this wine & nice garrigue notes to the nose & palate. 89+ and would buy again. [edit] Still going strong on night 2. Absent the screw cap, this wine would be interesting to follow over 5 years or so. (1606 views) | | Tasted by UTPK on 6/15/2012: This has mellowed a bit, and is quite open straight from bottle. Good balance and juicy fruit withour much sense of place. Not modern, you can sense that this is a smaller wine from a talented winemaker. Good QPR. (2083 views) | | Tasted by JFish on 3/28/2012: Quick TN: Unscrewed and poured. Darker fruit and tighter/more closed than the previous bottle. This wine had a metallic/medicinal quality that the first bottle didn't have, as well as a shortish finish. Unchanged over two hours. Okay but nothing earth shattering. (2078 views) | | Tasted by CWilliam on 3/7/2012: placeholder (1843 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |

Anything that is labeled as Plan Pégaü should NOT be confused with the main wines from the Estate.Red Rhone Blend Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.
A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
