Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 88.7 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 18 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Anonymous on 10/21/2014 & rated 89 points: Deep fruit and tannins that paired well with grilled grass-fed beef and sautéed vegetables. Time may mellow it, but I enjoyed it as it is. (788 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 4/17/2014: Expressive nose. Fresh palate, with an herbal quality. Bracing tannins and a long finish. Would probably benefit from a few more years of aging. (1141 views)
Tasted by Bill Bucklew on 3/1/2014 & rated 85 points: Quick note, ripe, warm nose of blackberry and red plum. More red fruit on the palate, bright red cherry and cassis it's a tannic wine with a touch of heat. I'd give it a bit more time to let the tannins resolve a bit hopefully the fruit will hold up., (1292 views)
Tasted by ScottPreston on 4/18/2013 & rated 89 points: For the $8 i paid for this it was great. Solid fruit, mineral, and some charcoal. Very short finish, but great for the price. (2187 views)
Tasted by ScottPreston on 2/11/2013 & rated 88 points: great bargain wine for everyday drinking. Soft tannins and good dark red fruits. (1783 views)
Tasted by robmillis on 2/9/2013 & rated 88 points: dark plum color, a little bit hot on the nose when first opened, alcohol settling after 30 minutes. cherry, plum, fig notes.

I first paired this with pizza and was content, but when I paired this with teriyaki salmon I was impressed. A great value for the price and will definitely pull it out again anytime I'm having smoked salmon, beef jerky or teriyaki of any sort. (1339 views)
Tasted by Pikkle on 9/4/2012 & rated 88 points: A nice wild cherry note with some all spice and nutmeg. Not too plump but good meat on its bones. Nice everyday drinker. (1718 views)
