Tasted by cweiner on 10/12/2023 & rated 92 points: Hate to see the last bottle gone. Such a stellar QPR. (317 views)
Tasted by cweiner on 10/4/2023 & rated 92 points: Plenty of life to go. (321 views)
Tasted by cweiner on 9/7/2023 & rated 90 points: No change from last comment. (347 views)
Tasted by BernieMSY on 3/6/2022 & rated 93 points: Light gold color; pineapple-y nose.
Residual sugar is present, but the wine has dried out considerably over the years. Lovely fruit, with some minerally-driven secondary notes. Excellent. (1163 views)
Tasted by John Nezlek on 2/12/2022 & rated 92 points: Note: I use the recommended scale, so 85 is a very good wine.

A bit from memory, but the bottle was excellent. Great balance of acid and sweetness.
Much better than in 2014.
Did not read any TNs before drinking, so this is a "virgin" opinion.

My guess is that there is no reason to rush. I have two more. (1092 views)
Tasted by fitzi on 10/6/2020: This was great, Vouvray at peak, IMHO - perfectly counterpoised sweet and sour, as delicate and elegant as a Gruenhauser Ruwer Spaetlese, with the body of a 1er Chablis and the punch to stand up to light meat dishes. I'm off sweet wines more and more as I go along, but the balance here is pitch perfect, and the mild sweetness seems just right within the wine's overall gestalt.

My last bottle tasted slightly over the hill, lacking the the properties this one offered - variation? Flaw? Cork? In any event, it's good to have my original impression of the Chidane wines validated. Huet, schmuet (1588 views)
Tasted by cweiner on 5/7/2020 & rated 90 points: The first of the purchase. Nice, but a bit too sweet for my taste. (1567 views)
Tasted by UpfromtheCellar on 2/13/2020 & rated 88 points: Nice yin yang thing going between the fruit and the acids, not unlike a Riesling. Not sure how it merits a 95 score from the last reviewer (It might have been helpful to provide a few notes?) but its OK. (1586 views)
Tasted by cweiner on 11/13/2018 & rated 90 points: Well integrated with lovely fruit. Best at room temperature. Would have scored higher except for the sweetness is too much for my taste. (2009 views)
Tasted by ohne_musik on 10/27/2018 & rated 93 points: Third and last bottle. What a nice bottle of wine. Liz said it reminded her of a beautiful scene of liquid sunshine in Madeline Miller’s book Circe. Liquid sunshine indeed. If it come with fresh squeezed lemons and run through a beeswax and wool sieve. Just a lovely lovely wine. (2261 views)
Tasted by Pknut on 7/30/2018: Over four years since my last bottle. This is in an excellent spot right now.
Slightly golden color. Palate is very fresh and clear, with youthful fruit that spans the spectrum from clear citrus fruits to more fleshy white and golden fruits, unsweetened nectarine, kumquat, hints of Chenin wool, wax and just a touch of sweetness. Lovely balance. Ends with a burst of acidity. Still very young. Just textbook lovely Chenin. With Jason R. (2392 views)
Tasted by Pverd on 6/3/2018 & rated 92 points: Just a beautiful, quintessential off dry vouvray by a master. Lovely texture, gorgeous honey, barley sugar and truffles notes on nose and palate. Good length and nice freshness to finish. Not sure it will ever taste better though will easily last another 10 years. Wish I had more. (2022 views)
Tasted by Deux Chevaux on 5/24/2018: We can’t improve on ohne musik’s notes below, but will add: 1) the savory fresh cut flower/floral aspect contributed nicely to the wine’s drive and persistence; 2) these attributes themselves persisted beautifully on nights two and three, and began to fade only somewhat on final night four. Beautifully balanced, quite elegant, and highly enjoyable. (2062 views)
Tasted by ohne_musik on 5/20/2018 & rated 94 points: Dinner at Jake & Mo's: Tiniest bit off-dry. Dried flowers, lemon peel, stone fruit on the nose. More dried flowers, lemon, wax, wool, and a hint of nuttiness almond nuttiness. This has such amazing balance, drive and persistence, with a finish that wows. Loved all around. (1778 views)
Tasted by Biskuit on 4/1/2018 & rated 93 points: Wow, showing great right now, both lush and brightly acidic, pineapple and slate (1604 views)
Tasted by ohne_musik on 2/22/2018 & rated 93 points: Pale gold, almost green gold. Effusive nose of Meyer lemon, tangerine, cut pineapple, wet rock. Maybe a touch reductive. Wow, fresh cut grass, lemon, honeycomb, wax, wool, and more honey across the tongue. In contrast to the noses, the beginnings of oxidative notes of hazelnut and baked apple, but glazed with lemon syrup. There’s only a hint of sweetness, and it only highlights the spine of mouthwatering acid. plenty of life left. (1744 views)
Tasted by brigcampbell on 7/8/2017: Color is golden, maybe starting to head down hill. Doesn't have the acidity to back the sweet fruit palate and residual sugar. Not overly sugary. Time to drink up. (2006 views)
Tasted by Charlie Carnes on 8/1/2016 flawed bottle: Another shot bottle. Completely advanced. Done. (3280 views)
Tasted by Biskuit on 7/26/2016 & rated 85 points: A bit off, maybe this bottle was a touch oxidized (3162 views)
Tasted by garrigue65 on 3/28/2016 & rated 91 points: Apples and honey. With some bright acidity. Drinking well now. (3721 views)
Tasted by Seafoam Manor on 11/19/2015 & rated 91 points: Very nice, a little sweet, a little funky and a lot of fruit, with apricots, very ripe apples and a brûléed citrus quality. It has secondary notes of baking spices, waxiness, wool and slight lactic notes. Good, but lacks the complexity of the Clos Hebert. I don't have much experience with older Vouvrays, but this seems to have the stuffing to age a bit. (4166 views)
Tasted by Fateful Destiny on 10/29/2015 & rated 89 points: Good but rather simple. For $30, I could find better (3763 views)
Tasted by Seafoam Manor on 10/22/2015 & rated 91 points: Big, almost overpowering, reductive notes that took a while to blow off. This was starting to develop more mature notes, but the acidity, RS and concentration of fruit leads me to think that this will drink well for several years. (2706 views)
Tasted by fitzi on 8/11/2015: First of my 08 stash and a very lovely bottle indeed the first day, delightfully lithe and slippery going down, very mildly sweet, with minerality and slightly peachy highlights. I think it's quite young still, and the second day it began to open up more, but at this time, I prefer the youthful charm of its first-day showing. (3019 views)
Tasted by Vinsant on 6/27/2015: Perfect fair for CR Salmon and risotto. Apple cider, quince, gravel, mead, and chalk on the nose and palate with a light layer of wool over the top of all. In a great place but has some life left. Sweet, savory, and salty all at once. (2888 views)
