Tasted by JGinMO on 6/16/2023 & rated 91 points: Still full bodies, with lots of fruit and structure , but just lacks the secondary flavors and nuance I recall in the 2010 (565 views)
Tasted by Renevin on 9/24/2022 & rated 94 points: Très beau nez complexe. Encre, bleuet, menthol. En bouche, puissant, ample, presence tanique mais pas agressive.. final sur le fruit. Belle longueur (965 views)
Tasted by dsimmons on 9/21/2022 & rated 94 points: First of 2, Drinking well with concentrated dark fruit. good balance. Drink or hold. (1133 views)
Tasted by 2caveman on 9/2/2022 & rated 93 points: consistent with the vintage, this wine is now open and generous, with forward nose and palate. Prune, chocolate and spices. Laccking the finesse and restraint that I hold dear in CNP and that were abundant in the Grand Veneur Les Origines 2006 that followed it. Drink remaining bottles soon (872 views)
Tasted by Mark van Delft on 7/31/2022 & rated 94 points: My go to C9dP! No heat as so many have: bramble, plum, earthy, blackberry, tobacco leaf, dark chocolate note, fig, medium to full body, nice long dark fruit driven finish. (933 views)
Tasted by hbay on 1/22/2022 & rated 92 points: Flæskesteg m. ovnkartofler og rødkål (970 views)
Tasted by dkentaustin on 12/27/2021 & rated 93 points: Bright garnet color. Pretty red raspberry and blackberry with a hint of strawberry. Mineral driven vibrancy with a lighter palate and a hint of dried, tart cherry, blueberry cobbler crust and spice. Grippy tannins and firm structure. This wine is lovely.

p.s. stuffed Cornish game hens with grilled asparagus (662 views)
Tasted by dkentaustin on 4/1/2021 & rated 93 points: Blackberry preserves, perfume, deep violets, mountain laurels with wet stones and sweet leather. The wine seemed to get bigger with time in the glass. Light velvet on the palate with substaintially integrated tannins, but still young and has years to evolve. (968 views)
Tasted by Château de Farmer on 1/9/2021 & rated 87 points: Hugely disappointing given the hype and price—this should be in the core drinking window. Instead it was mostly tired stewed fruit, even if it was complex stew (herbal and licorice). Sad. Probably more the specific bottle than the wine overall based on other reviews. (880 views)
Tasted by dkentaustin on 12/17/2020 & rated 92 points: Purple, ruby hue. Violets/floral notes but somewhat muted on the nose. Vanilla, blackberry and a lovely blueberry ice cream. Still a very young, but fun to try.

p.s. Israeli hummus with pita, lamp balls and sweet breads. (817 views)
Tasted by enthusiastic_amateur on 11/29/2020 & rated 93 points: Rich deep red fruity body. Well integrated throughout, well balanced. Drinking very well right now. (649 views)
Tasted by korniev on 7/2/2019 & rated 90 points: I know I know, it is too early to open this bottle, but I wanted to give myself a treat tonight after a great birthday of my friend, so I did pop it open. The first 5-10 minutes - dull and empty, severely "not ready".
After 30 minutes however there came some very beautiful notes of menthol, tabacco and chocolate. Obviously this bottle is far from its peak but I just think that rather than waiting another 10-15 years, I would try this one now, and buy a bottle of 95-2000 later this year. It is not that expansive. Overall a good experience but still I think good CdP should age 20-25+ years to be at their best! I will wait another 2 hours now and let you guys know if it gets much better after.... (1354 views)
Tasted by danstrings on 1/19/2019 & rated 93 points: Showing great w/ classic French food at Chapeau in SF. Wonderful spicy deep dark fruit - plum, black cherry, cassis.. Unctuous fruit but still super fresh with some spice and minerality. Yum! (1700 views)
Tasted by thesternowl on 12/25/2018 & rated 93 points: A little Rhône fun during Christmas Eve dinner with a North/South option for our surf and turf affair of sous vide New York Strips and Ribeyes with King Crab legs. Popped and poured, this was a magnificent and lush example with perfectly ripe brambles, garrigue and spiced fruitcake. Mouth coating without feeling heavy or overbearing in anyway. Tannins are resolved and I can say with a high degree of confidence that these are in a great place for drinking now. In case anyone was wondering, the Northern Rhône we drank alongside was a European bottled B. Levet Côte Rôtie “Les Journaries” (known there as “La Maestria”). (1633 views)
Tasted by danstrings on 5/22/2018 & rated 91 points: Lovely round yet balanced CdP stuffed with unctuous fruit and chocolate - yet refreshing (serve at cellar temp) (2488 views)
Tasted by Mark van Delft on 6/4/2017 & rated 92 points: Big fan of Boisrenard C9dP! Elegant, dark chocolate, dark cherries, plum, balsamic note, medium body, long smooth aftertaste (3045 views)
Tasted by 2caveman on 2/23/2017 & rated 89 points: We drank this wine after an extremely balanced and food friendly 2011 Vacqueras. Striking how over-ripe and stewed the Boisrenard was. Really speaks to the importance of vintage and reminds me to steer away from vaunted "big" vintages that too often bring in the high scores but lack finesse. Not sure where this wine is heading but I don't see a lot of upsides in terms of evolution (2677 views)
Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 9/6/2015 & rated 92 points: Rhone varietals on a Saturday afternoon (Chesterland): Inky purple in color. Shimmering bright. The nose is dusty with black raspberries, black licorice and spice. Tannic. Slightly bitter purple fruit on the palate, which I like. Tightly packed. I was surprised at the vintage as most 09's have been so accessible, but this seems to need time. It got better thru the afternoon. Nice showing. (4671 views)
Tasted by MarkusBig on 4/4/2015 & rated 92 points: Everything I want in a CDP.

3/19/16 - Same score. Great CDP. (4185 views)
Tasted by Joegish on 10/30/2014 & rated 92 points: Very young, but delicious. Did not detect any shutting down on this. Powerful nose that filled the room. Delicious after about 45 minutes of decanting. (4503 views)
Tasted by Jeff Leve on 9/20/2014 & rated 92 points: A hint of oak remains, along with copious amounts of lush, fat, juicy cherries, fennel and kirsch. Rich, round and forward, you can drink it now, if you like it on the young side, or give it more time in the bottle. (3935 views)
Tasted by jaumealaska on 8/9/2014 & rated 93 points: Beautiful nose, tannins still firm on the finish. Easily another 3 or 4 years. (3314 views)
Tasted by blakel on 5/31/2013 & rated 91 points: Pnp at cellar temperature, subtle nose of dark fruit and minerals, a little alcohol. Delicious and mouth-filling on the palate, with dark fruit , nice bright acid, and a hint of earth. Very nicely balanced. Long finish with sweet tannins. Very nice. (3879 views)
Tasted by KPB on 3/14/2013 & rated 88 points: Not my favorite among recent CDP from the 2009 vintage. Medium ruby, with a gamey nose dominated by strawberry fruit, but overlaid with toffee and creosote. The palate is unsubtle and a bit out of balance, showing sweet fruit but also an aggressive, somewhat oaky tannic profile that seems poorly integrated and even a bit bitter. (3962 views)
Tasted by slywka7 on 9/29/2012 & rated 95 points: Fabulous wine with a great range of flavor! (3457 views)

Domaine de Beaurenard (Paul Coulon et Fils) Châteauneuf-du-Pape Boisrenard

From DOMAINE DE BEAURENARD
70% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and 10% Cinsault and other AOC varieties.
The bunches are picked and sorted by hand. They are then destemmed, slightly crushed and placed in a fermenting vat. These steps, combined with long vatting, gently extract the maximum amount of phenolic constituents – tannins, anthocyans and resveratrol – which give the wine its structure and colour and also have health-promoting properties.
During the 12-15 months the wine spends in barrels and truncated vats, we continue to refine its structure to achieve balance and harmony.
From another source
Parcels of old vines 60-100 years in age, planted in soils of great character and complexity, provide the grapes for this wine. They are picked when fully mature and meticulously sorted by hand to further enhance concentration. Yields are very low: 15-20 hectoliters/hectare. These old parcels, in which different varieties are planted together, embody the symphony of 13 varieties, though Grenache predominates. The Boisrenard undergoes lengthy vatting and is aged in an entirely traditional way: no filtration or fining, then 18 months' ageing in oak barrels, bottling, and a spell of rest in underground cellars.

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.

"As I have written many times in the past, the sweet spot for drinking Châteauneuf du Papes is usually the first 5-6 years after the vintage. Then they seem to go through an adolescent, awkward, and sometimes dormant stage, only to re-emerge around year 10-12, where the majority of wines are often fully mature. The best of them will continue to hold on to life (but rarely improving) beyond 15-20 years. It is only the exceptional Châteauneuf du Papes that will evolve for 20-25+ years, and those are indeed a rarity. However, things may be improving dramatically in terms of the longevity of Châteauneuf du Pape, although Grenache-dominated wines, the vast majority of wines produced in the appellation, are wines that do not have the polyphenol (extract and tannin) content of top Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots, or Syrah-based wines. Nevertheless, the younger generation in Châteauneuf du Pape has taken seriously the farming in the vineyards. There are more organic and biodynamically run vineyards here than in any other appellation of France. The yields, which were already low, are even lower today (20-35 hectoliters per hectare), and of course, the proliferation of top luxury and/or old-vine cuvées gives a significant boost to the number of wines that will evolve past 25 or 30 years. The advantage of these wines is their broad window of drinkability." - Robert Parker
