Tasted by Piccolopaulo on 7/20/2013 & rated 90 points: Gorgeous golden colour, bouquet is full of buttery, nutty (walnut, almond) notes with loads of apple. Palate is rich and round, though heavily oaked (to the point where one might sense a burnt oak note), with a long lingering finish. Tannins are supple and acidity is perfect. Overall a lovely wine for a special occasion. Bring some big food, buttery seafood to the table. We had it with dungeness crab! (1933 views)
Tasted by 1961Vintage on 9/23/2012 & rated 87 points: Nice pear and citrus...for the money a bit on the acidic side. Much better with food (2321 views)
Tasted by underwds on 11/22/2010 & rated 87 points: Lots of apple and pear fruit. Good straightforward Chardonnay with little malolactic butteriness. Good balance. Simple but well made, but not much oak and butter if that's what you like. Good fine wine--went really well with a sweet-and-sour swordfish. (2370 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
