Tasted by richardhod on 1/8/2013 & rated 91 points: So, this 07 Ramal Chardonnay Dijon Clones from Buena Vista was rather good. Very oaky, strong, complex heavy Chard, but not just your usual California oak-butter. A lot better than most oaked Cali Chards and nods to Burgundy, though it definitely has a lot of heft and is fruitier than I think i'd find in France, because they get the weather, even in Carneros: a big, strong hybrid. Needs a good foil, being so huge! melted brie and bread went quite nicely with it, though purists will probably scream at me! This has a lot of legs and will probably last some years yet. California

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.

Carneros

Straddles the southern ends of Napa & Sonoma Counties.
