there she goes. baking apple and painter's studio. 'honey in a glass' is called out. palate shows medium body with a chenin type honied-spice texture. such beautiful flowers. medium acid. this wine is not for everyone. the textural change from front to back of the palate is a mind bender.
an entrancing nose of sesame seeds toasting. seaweed wrapper. randy calls 'forest floor.' soft lead pencil. they syrah shows a soft bellow of fruit. this is pinot on a pillow. palate shows light body, with soft dark notes. a little earthy. nice at $21.99.
nose: is showing quite up front oak expressed. guava fruit, but not with guava spice. an ethereal pine/evergreen. 'sweet pea green, white pepper, pear.' yeah, polished pear fruit and green tarragon herbage. palate feels full. lush mousse. Medium acid. almost Medium- acid. 'hop pellets.' adorable array of green in the nose.
nose: shows softer baking apple fruit. called out as being more flowery (prosecco in general) but i'm not seeing that here. i want to say there is an oxidative nature to this wine. soft texture. full of bubbles that soften the blow. palate shows apple and flowers albeit fresh, not dried flowers.
nose: brioch and strawberry fruit. 'starting bread dough.' palate of rich strawberry fruit and more pronounced acid than the szigeti or the adami. shows some RS perception, when put in this field. it has the a very pale pink color.
nose: croissant, fresh bread str8 out of the oven. palate shows almost exotic fruit and the brightest acid of the pack. autolytic notes on the palate. really digresses into chocolate in the nose. settles into the beauty of unflashy flowers.
2/3 pinot, 1/3 chard from chouilly and cuis. blowsy like bunchy ladies panties. pizza herbs. mellow sugar cookie and delicate soft lees. soft sweet fresh dough. a holiday cookie contest. a bright light on the finish with a piquant quick spice.
75% pinot noir, 12.5% chardonnay, 12.5% bouzy rouge. almost cherry fruit off the nose. very aromatic wild forest cherry. faintly medicinal. at the same time and ethereal earthiness. wow, a savory underbelly. chalk all over. an herbal concoction. do i get a little wood? stem from the bouzy rouge is suggested. pinot rocks it out. mineral, floral, herb and strawberry fruit on the palate. a hot saw heating up wood oils. sap on the blades of a wood chipper. fantasic.
nose of pretzel and cinnamon sugar cookie. 'heavier in style, more robust.' palate of easy fruit, almost too innocuous. 60% pinot 40% chard. easy flower on the palate. and more mineral expressive. very robust red apple fruit. backstory...early 80s veuve was still a small wine. henriot sold veuve his land in grand cru vineyards. he runs veuve from 1980-1996. still gets first pass of fruit from those vineyards.
wow, this shows like rich, more aged chardonnay. i think of the 94 kalin cellars i've been enjoying recently, or more properly here, 05 ridge SCM chard. rich lush minerality. elegant petrol. 'gold label'
