Light and faint. Not great. Boring. Nothing flawed but nothing going for it as well.

Layered. Earthy. Some nice delicate fruit. Really nice. Moderate finish.

Good. Blue, smokey with some light pepper. A really nice bottling. Elegant for a Cali Syrah.

Austere, rougher around the edges, finish. Still nice, just rustic and ya feel like you've been slapped around a bit.

Some nutty almost butter. A little oak. Bigger but not over done.

Waxy lemon peel. Nice minerality. Less oak showing than the regular Carneros. Quite nice. Tend to enjoy single vineyard bottlings from this site.

Cigar. Dark red fruit - shows nice varietal characteristics. Acid driven on the back end. Decent.

Big and rich. Dark berries, rock, wood. There's some tannic structure that's appealing.
Moderate complex dark finish with some chocolate, vanilla and spice. Showing nicely.
I think my standards have only somewhat shifted since my first tastings of Tribute bottlings at Wildfire.

Really enjoyable honey. Big. Really lush nuts, spices, milky honeydew. Long finish.

Better than the last time around. Clean pure fruit. Little smokey spice. Some earth qualities that balance well with the acidity on the back end.

Good. Kinda boring but decent chocolate action. Standard. Not my favorite.

Big wine. Black olives. Dark and rustic. Big masculine wine.
Not as fruit forward as I expected. Excellent juice though.

Peach, white flowers, creamy pear and some light green grass. Medium acidity. Really nicely layered medium light bodied juice.

Interesting. Not overly done. A bit SB like. Really nice, but i loved it last time it was tasted. Had more balance and complexity then.

Really funky. Great nose. Palate is feminine, shows finesse and length. There's persistence in the finish. Beautiful.

Ken Wright found this vineyard. Good. Moderate complexity.

Really nice heady minty spice laced with chocolate and vanilla accents. Great palate.
Recommended.

One of the surprises of the tasting. Really enjoyable mineral, volcanic rock and purple blue fruit action. Heady and opulent.
Really fell for the mouth feel of this wine. Silky and very smooth. A great wine. I always thought poorly of Honig - until now.

Good wine. Somewhat one dimensional but still has depth in terms of wood, earth and spice. Just not loving the fruit tone.
Definitely not worth about fifty dollars.

Cote Rotie styling. Lots of climate showing through. Very funky and earth dominated.
Complex but very well in tune with its alcohol, acidity and tannin structure. A big wine that's not overwhelming to drink.

Okay finish.

Decent complexity. Some underlying funk topped with bright tart, slightly creamy light red berries.

Wet dog and peat moss on the nose. Clay aromas lead to rustic darker Pinot berries.
Old World styling. Really nice.

Ripe, plush. Fruit driven. Lots of acidity. A bit lean.

Funky, unique nose. Some spice. Palate was good but the finish completely fell off the planet. It basically ruined the whole experience. Boo to that.

One of the highlights of the tasting. I haven't been impressed with recent releases of SLWC Artemis bottlings and the Fay I've tasted in past didn't blow me away either.
This was solid though. Well balanced showing some heady California fruit. A real nice finish. Lovely.

Smooth. Notes of petrol, clean breeze, rock. Some nice green and white fruit with a peppery bell pepper quality.
Really nice. Not your typical American Riesling; probably because it's not from California.

Didn't love this wine - especially for $30. Med body, not over the top, but just boring. One dimensional.
You could find something like this for ten bucks.

Lots of mint, petroleum jelly. Almost a clammy anise component. Quite nice. Unique for sure.
