No surprise the Fevre was the best wine tonight. While I like Burgundy it under delivers compared to any other major wine region in the world. I really enjoyed the Nuits St. Georges flight and the Pillot wines from Pommard. Next up a in depth exam of the 1er Crus of Vosne Romanee.
2006 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 94 Points
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
A wonderful wine with lemon, chalk, tropical fruit and minerals on the nose and palate. A really long finish and concentrated wine. Great acidity and one of the best Chablis wines to date.

2008 Philippe Leclerc Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Meat, smoke, mineral and spice on the nose. The palate is a little thin but this is a really young wine. Some depth over the course of an hour developed but needs to be cellared for at least five years. Currently 88-90.

2005 Domaine des Monts Luisants Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Les Monts Luisants 89 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis 1er Cru
An overated Newman selection from WTSO with raspberry, blueberries, subtle spice and sweet fruit. Medium finish but this wine lacks any serious depth to be convinced it will ever achieve the 96 score.

2005 Louis Jadot Chambolle-Musigny 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
Showed really well among the 1er Cru wines tonight. Cedar, spice and earth dominate this wine but has a nice finish and drinking well right now.

2006 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers 91 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
While tight there is some really nice elements to this wine including cherry, coffee, spice, sublte oak and vanilla. Medium finish and a woody quality. Cellar for 3 to 5 and try again. This will improve with some time.

2006 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porrets St. Georges 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
One of my favorite wines tonight with wood, spice, raspberry and strawberry notes. Earth on the palate and showing good acidity. Medium and concentrated finish. Nice upside to this wine.

2005 Domaine Robert Jayer-Gilles Nuits St. Georges Les Hauts Poirets 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
Decanted 2 plus hours and it really helped. Cigar, cedar, spice, cherry and forest floor on the nose and palate. Medium finish and plenty going on here. Should drink well for five plus years.

2005 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Boucherottes Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot 89 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru
Not as good as the previous bottles and I liked the nose more than the palate. Cranberry, mineral and floral notes dominate this wine. The palate reveals less excitement and the tannins are soft at this stage. Drink now.

2006 Chanson Père & Fils Beaune 1er Cru Champimonts 87 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru
Really light in color with spice and cedar. Too light of a wine for my palate.

Nice finishing wine to a night of Burgundy with cherry, mild funk, spices, and floral notes. Medium finish and plenty of flavor. Well done.
