Well, what can one say, but that it was quite the honor to be present at this reunion btw the heads of the grandes maisons des champagne and quite a few from Sweden's wine and gastronomic nobility. I was probably the most obviously malplacé. A lot of fun though.
2000 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 93 Points
France, Champagne
Long finish, lively, but does not yield a lot at this instance - a greenish note but the body and acidity and mousse are briliantly balanced.

2000 Pol Roger Champagne Vintage Brut 92 Points

The nose is full of pain grillé, there is a lot of body on this wine, but delicate and fine long on the palate.

2004 Taittinger Champagne Brut Millésimé 90 Points

perhaps the mousse is not as fine as one would hope for, but the palate is clean and pure with good balance, some body and quite a lot of energy.

Thin, very energetic mousse and tightly knit. Not my preferred style.

1998 Deutz Champagne Brut Millésimé 93 Points

excellent - deep and generous tones, brioche dominated nose, shows age but in a charming fashion. Not a very long finish, but it does not matter.

2004 Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Brut 90 Points
France, Champagne
This is of course very elegant and there is both balance and energy: but it is thin and extremely unyielding at present time. For those who are willing to wait a decade and are not short on cash - go for it. For everyone else, don't build up too high expectations for your anniversary dinner around this wine.

NV Lanson Champagne Extra Age Brut 83 Points
France, Champagne
too much vivacity - and a monotonous apple cider freshness. I would might have guessed cava had it been blind.

light, but long finish, with a lot of freshness, but not too much complexity. quite ok.
