France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Rich and lush almost tropical fruit with some mint and lemon in background. Powerful wine with lots of density and concentration. A bit top heavy and awkward, but the minerality keeps it moving forward. Drinking well now, but I'm not sure this is a wine to cellar long-term.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Good fruit but slightly behind the wine's really dominant minerality and acidity. Probably not at a perfect place today, I think there is enough substance for this wine to emerge in another few years more interesting.
Forward, moderate fruit with some roasted nuts and background spice. Tons of minerality, good acidity provide nice finish with elegance and finesse, even if not lots of power of great density. At its peak.
Wonderful perfume to start. Clean, crisp apple flavors to start with lemon and lemon peel on finish with lots of minerality and acidity. Very exciting and energetic today.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Not particularly expressive aromatically today. Moderate fruit on palate, with th emost interesting aspect of this wine being the acidity and minerality, most notably on finish. I'd hope this awakens again with greater expression.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Exceptional aromatics, floral with rich fruit. Flavors of candied apple and orange peel with some really fun roasted hazelnut on finish. Wonderful textures come through on nunaced finish. Really good now, probably still improving for a few more years.
Showing a fair degree of age as well as vintage character, this wine is slightly past its peak. Shows a fair amount of oak not perfectly integrated, this is a little awkward and unbalanced, but still showing good, pleasurable ripe fruit.
2004 Morey-Blanc Meursault 1er Cru Bouchères
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Ripe peach on nose, same flavors on palate. Lots of acidity that gives this a slightly harsh edge on finish.
