Elegant nose started with some violet floral character and dense black fruit. Palate ws all black cherry and plum with a great animale character. Great fruit and power on finish, intensified and elongated byreally great tannins.
Massive black cherry and plum aromas with hints of tobacco. Same black fruit on palate with intense spice, good acidity and huge tannins. Very long finish showcases big spice, black fruit and a slight liqueur element. Probably needs another decade.
Moderate floral start with combination of black fruit and earthy aromas. Earthy and elegant flavors, surprisingly moderate fruit, making some think this was ever-so-slightly corked (?). But it didn't really change much with a couple of hours in glass, so I don't think it was corked, but possibly an otherwise imperfect bottle.
Showing fair amount of age, this was as earthy as primary. Moderate fruit on palate with good amount of minerality.Finish showed some unintegrated tannins and lots of earth.
Nose starts with black cherry, cocoa and some cherry liqueur. Ripe and powerful fruit, bold and brawny with lots of tannins and acidity. Great minerality comes through from middle to end. Needs another decade to evolve further, and I think this become increasingly interesting.
I brought this as a bonus despite being a terrible vintage, but I thought it might be fun to have a Le Pin at this dinner. Merlot came through well, very round, soft and feminine. Black cherry and plum flavors, simple but charming and enjoyable.
Dense black fruit aromas with some kirsch notes, follwed by plenty of espresso and cocoa notes. Lush plum and black cherry on palate. Tannins are still a bit harsh, making the wine harder to appreciate than some others tonight.

Aromas of black fruit, dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee and licorice. Lots of oak and lots of ripe fruit on palate. Very big, forward and direct.

Lots of aromas of well reduced mushroom. Completely evolved and mature with some good spice, even if it finished somewhat short and simple.
