faint strawberry nose, strawberry on the slightly thin palate. good but maybe a touch too sharp.

soft nose, not very open on this day, lovely soft vanilla palate. quite smooth. medium finish.

pretty rich nose, deep purple fruit, mouth-puckering drying tannins.

soft and smooth with a long, rich finish. notes of fresh blueberry. A huge winner at the price point.

rich, deep nose but too much overt alcohol on the palate which particularly dominates the finish.

soft and smooth, very dry, with deep purple fruit and a medium/long finish. quite nice.

still seems closed and inexpressive to me. same as prior note.

Man, I love the style of this producer. great stuff. smooth with layers and layers of depth. great mouthfeel - luxurious and deep. the fruit is fresh and ripe but balanced against the very subdued oak. just great.

my third time tasting this wine, it is quite consistent. very dry with deep purple color. plum notes and strong tannic mouthfeel. delicious.

After LOVING the 2008 vintage, I found this one to be disappointing. a bit closed up, but with vigorous swirling I got butterscotch, vanilla, and cherry cola. Cherry cola on the palate. Certainly nice, but just not as rich or smooth as Caymus usually is to me.

If I had tasted this blind, I would have thought it was a malbec from argentina. A bit harsh, especially on the back of the palate. Importer conducting the tasting assured me this was a proper bottle but withholding rating as it seems like an outlier to me.

sweet concentrated nose, smooth mouthfeel, youthful and a bit closed; would have liked to have had this decanted for a few hours and another taste.

I'm not a zin fan so no rating - but had to post a TN to report that, at least to me, this is not so much a wine as a big giant alcoholic cherry popsicle.

blood orange/grapefruit notes dominate with some grassy undertones. quite drinkable but not inspiring.

rich and luxurious on the nose, with a rich buttery palate that gets just a bit flabby on the finish

the nose and palate were a huge dose of pineapple juice melon liqueur. For anyone who has ever been to the Tropical Isle in New Orleans' French Quarter, this is the Hand Grenade of wine. (Hand grenade = equal parts pineapple juice, sour mix, melon liqueur, and grain alcohol...)
