Flight 1 (5 Notes)

  • 2011 JM Cellars Sauvignon Blanc

USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Yakima Valley

Was lucky enough to try a sample of the 2011 SB before it gets bottled.

Unfiltered, 100% Stainless Steel aged with a hint of Semillon. An absolutely beautiful white wine. Tropical fruit without that overripe flavor that too often comes with them. When this is released I'm defiantly going to pick a few up.

  • 2009 JM Cellars Estate Red Margaret's Vineyard

USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley

First vintage from Estate vintage and it's already a winner. Smooth as can be without being boring. Wonderful fruit and layer after layer of flavor. 14.4% Alc 80% New French Oak aged. My favorite of all the wines and I loved them all so that's really saying something. Even at the it's not everyday I try a $40+ bottle of wine which I consider a value, but this wine truly is, buy a couple and enjoy life

  • 2009 JM Cellars Merlot Red Mountain

USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain

Very nice 100% Merlot out of Red Mountain. A blend of Kiona, Klipson and Ciel du Cheval. Nice acid that would make this work very well with food, but still has a lot of depth to it. Medium finish, and nice tannins which aren't overpowering, but nicely in balance. Has the fruit to age 5-10 years easily. Very nice Merlot

  • 2009 JM Cellars Longevity

    USA, Washington, Columbia Valley

Another wonderful red from JM, 80% New French oak just like the Margaret's Vineyard, but they are very different wines. More of a bite to it, not in a bad way, just the oak comes out of this a little more than the others. Has the fruit and I think it will come together perfectly, but needs probably 2-3 years

  • 2009 JM Cellars Tre Franciulli

    USA, Washington, Columbia Valley

Cab heavy blend with Syrah and Merlot in the mix. Serious heavy hitter which can stand up with the big boys. Even though the Syrah is only 18% its comes through clear as day. Very tannic, but has the fruit to power through it. This will be many peoples favorite of the mix, but prefer the Margaret’s Vineyard
