Olives, Minerals, green bell peppers, weirdly enough it seems a bit unripe. Nevertheless a good wine but compared to the Poujeaux this is way lagging behind
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
Black cherries, creme de cassis, velvet in the palate, very nice!
When I tasted it first I rated this higher at 93, after I finished I went back and re-tasted the best wines, and this one seemed quite one dimensional, so I rated it down. But it's still a very nice wine
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
Burnt rubber, black cherries, a bit too much oak and hence a bit bitter in the palate. Loads of concentration but not harmonious. The longevity will be a risky bet with this one.
Rather light but still with a long finish, surprisingly, leading to an imbalanced wine. Some notes of green bell peppers, not nice. Maybe this is in an awkward phase, but is it really, let's wait (a long time) and see!
Elegant and harmonious with the classic BDX notes, but lacks depth and power in the palate. I think this could be a long running wine and surprise me 10 years down the road
This has very nice roasted breadcrumbs, oak and coffee aromas, but not overdone (like the Le Gay) Nice black berries in the nose and the palate, black super ripe cherries. Great great stuff.
This was for me the surprise of the tasting, I loved this one!!
Originally rated 73 points, but as I god some agressive comments, I took away the note. I still feel that it is the wine, as I have not had a good bottle of this wine yet, but apparently, everyone else seems to diagree. I love Lynch Bages, but this one is not good in my opinion.
Original Note: This was open for a day but stored cold with the cork put on, this was not very good, irish candy, green bell peppers. We couldn't believe that this was so bad so we opened another one, which was a bit better but was only 79 points, weird...
Rated 79 points, but as I god some agressive comments, I took away the note. I still feel that it is the wine, as I have not had a good bottle of this wine yet, but apparently, everyone else seems to diagree. I love Lynch Bages, but this one is not good in my opinion.
Original Note: This reminds me of the 1993 Montrose when it was younger, bitter and nearly aggressive elderberry flavor. This is weird and I don't think that time will heal the wounds.
This is very very very good. It has a very nice structure that keeps the intensity up all the way from the first sip to the aftertaste. Again the Ticino merlot oakyness, with roasted breadcrumbs, nice fruit driven now.
Loads of 'Rumtopf' (a German dessert basically fruit in rum aged for a long time). Very dense and already very approachable, super modern style, beautiful.
Banana, Chocolate, a bit bitter already in the nose which is also reflected in the palate. Nice sweetness but rather light in the palate. Nice nose where you can sense the nice vintage but the palate is lacking power

A lot of alcohol, not well integrated, loads of red berries, quite round but not too dense with an unharmonic acidity

Good fruit, a bit backward still, very long finish and round/polished.
We went back to this after the entire tasting and it still held up pretty nicely.
Great value

Ripe red cherries, quite a bit of oak but not too much, rather light in the palate. Good value though but this will not last much more than 10 years

Medicinal, light in the palate, too young but am not sure that this will turn into a beautiful butterfly...

This is a beautiful thing. Black cherries, dense and round in the palate, soft and warm like a little kitten is having a nap in your mouth.

Some rubber, tons of tannin, very long with a very nice balance and good depth, this is a horse I would bet on for the long haul race

This was surprising as it was really different from all the other 2009 Bordeaux tasted today.
Sunday roast, bacon, lemon, this needs a lot of time but could become very very good in 10 years time.
