Tasting at winery. Robust, rich aromas to start. Clear that alcohol will be front-and-center. Ripe and charming black fruit on palate without quite the structure to withstand the alcohol's frontal assault. Finishes with an interesting pepper element.

Tasting at winery. Good black fruit aromas, similar on palate with fairly firm and assertive tannins. Not quite ready today. Are tannins too dominant for the level of fruit in the 200 vintage?
