  • 2001 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Turque

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

Dark purple color. Blackberry fruit with barbecued meats on the nose. Tastes of blackberry, black cherry, cedar, and violet. Grapey mid palate with some chewy tannins. Full bodied. Rich powerful finish. Seems a bit one dimensional with little complexity and nothing like the bottle we had before. Not corked but something is off? Respectfully left unrated.

Deep ruby hue. Floral red berry aromatics with some notes of Malaysian hardwood. Tastes of blackberry, cransberry, black pepper, raspberry, cherry, cedar, and earth. Nice mid palate complexity. Elegant finish with nice depth and length. 12% alcohol.
