We got together to check out the new chef at Bluegrass. Based on the dishes served, the restaurant has not lost a beat.
My contributions and somewhat underwhelming this night.
Steve Ward who imports Italian and Argentinian wines brought the 09 Antoniolo Gattinara which the vineyard designation that escapes me. It was showing really well but I stopped taking notes. I have had the 60s Antoniolo Gattina and they age exceptionally well. Another great eveining was had by all!

Ripe fruits, cherry coke, caramel and earth. It is not terribly complex. Enjoyable.

2010 Schäfer-Fröhlich Bockenauer Felseneck Riesling Großes Gewächs 95 Points
Germany, Nahe
This is not unlike the 09 that Henry generously opened a few months back but more primary fruit driven. Primary, ripe, bubble gum, pear, lemon, grapefruit, white pepper, smoke and a hint of SB like spicy jalapeno. Unctuous oily palate, limestone and bright acidity. Apparently some residual sugar but hardly noticeable. The primary fruit gives a bit fuller and less dry impression than the 09. Lovely wine.
