France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
There was bottle variation between the two bottles opened. Notes are from the second as the first was more advanced maybe from oxidation. Wine had nice fruit, I picked up apricot and mellow yellow fruit/ citrus. Somewhat one dimensional and flabby in the mid palate. others preferred this more than me.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, La Tâche Grand Cru
Two bottles that showed differently but both great in their own way. First was more advanced into an earthy, mushroom profile with aged raspberry fruit, nice mouthfeel and well balanced. I preferred the second wine slightly as the wine had more red fruit of raspberry and strawberry. Still had early stage mushroom component but was amazing,y youthful in the fruit profile. Silky tannins and so well balanced. Both memorable in their own way. Interesting,y, both from same case and stored same way. Yes,wine is a living organism!
Both bottles consistent and decanted for 8 hours. The long decanting time helped IMHO. The high alcohol risk was mitigated by the decant and the awesome black fruit shined. Blackberry, blueberry, black raspberry and black cherry all wound ogre ther in harmony with a thick teeth coating eight in the mouth. Awesome pairing with duck tacos and mole sauce. Memorable.

Just not my style. Nice underlying fruit but flabby, lacked structure and extremely cloying.
