  • 2009 E. Guigal Condrieu

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Condrieu

Pale/medium lemon. Nose is slightly dumb, possibly a touch too cold, shows some peachy fruit and vanilla. Full bodied on the palate, stone fruit, vanilla, low acidity, moderate length, flabby finish. Fairly ordinary (although apparently showed some improvement with time in glass). *

  • 1991 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas

Earthy nose, showing notes of iron and vestiges of red fruit. Only moderately intense on the palate and showing vestiges of firm tannin, as such not exactly generous but characterful with red and black berry fruit, spice and notes of earth on the medium length finish. Good, but for drinking now. ***
