Pale yellow color. Great nose! Nice small slow raising bubbles. Very interesting mix of bitter/sweet flavors in the palate. Apples, pears, nuts, honey. Long finish.
Weird floral nose (oxidation?). Sour, acidic palate. An excellent wine that could get higher score for me if it wasn't for the weirdness of the nose... Group's favorite in this flight.
Med yellow color. Very cloudy (unfiltered?). Offending nose (sulfur?) and some brett. The palate was definitely better than the nose. This was one of these bottles where the group's opinion was divided between outstanding and flawed... for me this was flawed, but it liked but some with more experienced palates in the group! I visited Jura about 10 years ago so I'm somewhat familiar with the unique style of the region, but this just didn't cut it for me.
Very cloudy. Gorgeous nose with smokey, licorice, raspberry, cherry aromas and some brett. Still drinking extremely well despite being close to 60 years old!! Clearly the group's favorite in this flight!
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru
Excellent nose that was a little shy upon opening, but did improve significantly after 30+ minutes in the glass. A little bit hot. Very soft. Feels a little bit young.
A little bit of orange/brown on the edges. Amazing nose with some leather and barnyard smell. Extremely soft palate. Fantastic!!! Group's favorite in this flight.
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
Clearly a different, more modern style than the other wines in this flight. Plums, cassis, fresh herbs, a bit of smoke. The nose is very elagant and fairly well developped, but the palate is still a little bit tannic, young.
