France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Tasted double blind. Clearly identified as ripe vintage white Burgundy, this shows lush and ripe apple aromas with peach hints with some buttery character. Also lush apple on palate with good power, some lemon on finish. Good concentration and freshness.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
Tasted double blind. Easily identifiable as a young Burgundy. Decanted approx one hour. Lean red cherry and strawberry aromas with great spice aromas. Elegant flavors, seemingly close to accessible today, I thought this from a more forward vintage like 2007, very pleasantly surprised to see it the amazing 2010 that I also enjoyed several times last year. Lacy and enticing start-to-finish.
Tasted double blind. Somewhat woodsy and briary aromas with dense black fruit. Fruit seems slightly roasted on palate, but good acidity helps provide some energy, despite fairly firm tannins. I thought this older.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Tasted double blind. Great black cherry aromas, very concentrated and intense but also balanced. Herbs de Provence spice on nose and palate. Elegant and persistent throughout. Great and balanced already, but with the substance to be great for 15-20 years.
Served double blind alongside its 1982 counterpart to the tasting group. Bottle had perfect fill. Earthy aromas with good lingering black fruit. Good power, balance of fruit and earth on palate, also good spice on finish. Still doing very well, but best to drink up.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru
Tasted double blind. Enticing great, mature Burg aromas - big, brown baking spice with ripe fruit, lots of power and concentration. 1990 character at its best with ideal ripeness, great spice. Long and exotic finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Tasted double blind. All black fruit with modest spice, mostly new oak, and a meaty character. Long, dense and concentrated , somewhat backward right now, but with clear pedigree and great potential.
Tasted double blind. Wow, what a great start. Decanted approx 90 minutes before serving. Dried rose petal, Licorice, black tea aromas with earthy notes and some good red cherry. Fruit is slightly more pronounced on palate, with great spice and structure. Elegant and incredibly long.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Served to the tasting group double blind. Fresh blackberry with great sauvage character but very pristine. Very ripe black fruit flavors for the vintage, lots of power, depth and concentration. Very well structured while also elegant.
France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise
Tasted double blind. Seemed like a moderately old Burgundy with some Beaujolais character. Earthy with mature red fruit. Balanced, somewhat simple. A couple of years past its peak but still drinking nicely.
Demi-sec style but with a viscosity I'd normally expect from a much sweeter wine. Mostly fig aromas, some prune. Persistent, long and very enjoyable. Most certainly not a dessert wine, this would be great with dried fruit, roasted walnuts or almonds and perhaps some semi-soft cheese.
2008 Bruno Giacosa Spumante Rosé Extra Brut 86 Points
Italy, Lombardia, Lombardia Spumante
Tasting. Pale strawberry aromas. Lean and fun on palate, also showing pale red fruit, somewhat short and simple.

Tasted double blind. Others enjoyed this a little, I just found it fat, overripe, roasted and uninteresting.
