• 1990 Château Léoville Barton 95 Points

  Brownish colour still with a dark core, Port Tawny-like
  Little closed for nose but in a few minutes showed its origins
  Delicious meaty aromas followed by owed apple and a well integrated wood and smoked complexity without end. Positively what a oldie. Wow!
  Palate give you a good acidity to run many years yet
  St. Julien at best in a few drops.
  Perfect mate for a Parmesan cheese tapa
  
  Color amarronado con un corazón oscuro , muy al estilo de los Tawnnies de Oporto.
  Un poco cerrado al principio pero en minutos mostró sus orígenes.
  Deliciosos aromas cárnicos seguidos de manzana al horno y de una buen integrada madera y de una ahumada complejidad sin fin. Favorecedora de una anciana como esta. ¡Tremenda!
  En boca muestra una buena acidez para continuar todavía durante años.
  St. Julien en lo mejor en unas pocas gotas.
  El perfecto acompañante para una tapa de parmesano.

• 1996 Château Montrose

  Stronger than last Leoville in every sense: Deep-coloured, less ethereal aromas and definitively heavier on the palate. More masculine, more St. Estephe.
  After all, this chimney wine was delicious also mainly for that stony notes, nose and palate, both.
  It has a long life ahead so I'm rethinking what to do with that Lynch Bages of the same vintage that is sleeping in my cellar
  Perhaps an outstanding serious bottle but it isn't after that marvellous Leoville-Barton.
  Maybe too much serious for my mood today.
  Btw avoid that perfect marinated salmon tapa. Please save it. Don't do as I did.
  
  Más fuerte que el último Leoville en todos los sentidos: De color profundo, de menos aromas etéreos y claramente más pesado en boca. Más masculino, más St. Estephe.
  Después de todo, este vino a chimenea estaba delicioso y lo era principalmente por esas notas a piedra tanto en nariz como en boca, ambos.
  Tiene una larga vida por delante y estoy repensando qué hacer con mi Lynch Bages de esa misma añada que duerme en mi bodeguita.
  Una botella seria fuera de lo común quizás pero no después de esa maravillosa Leoville Barton
  Puede que demasiado sería para mi estado de ánimo de hoy.
  Por cierto sáltate esa buena tapa de salmón marinada con esto. No como yo hice.

• 1970 Graham Porto Vintage 95 Points

  Can you believe this bottle is NOT ready to go at this point? Awesome! Red with a small trace of brownish colour.
  Of course it is absolutely drinkable and enjoyable now but, again, the best is yet to come. Amazing Port! Full of toffee, burned caramel and cream aromas. An authentic perfume. Sexy almost evil as the song used to say.
  On the palate conserves that dense nutty note we really appreciate
  Legs to run to the Folie this evening.... Terrific!
  
  ¿Te puedes creer que esta botella todavía no está lista ahora?
  ¡Qué belleza! Colorada con esos ribetes amarronados.
  Por supuesto está bebible y disfrutable pero, de nuevo, lo mejor está por llegar. ¡Maravilloso Oporto!
  Lleno de aromas a pastillas de café, caramelo quemado y crema. Un auténtico perfume. Como la canción solía decir, sexy casi maléfica.
  En boca conserva esa densa nota a frutos secos que tanto apreciamos.
  "Piernas" como para ir esta noche a lucirlas al Folie...¡terrorifica!

• 1981 Château Cheval Blanc

  Fully mature colour. Totally resolved to a brownish one.
  Tears to be crying all day long
  What a nose! Complex to the bone of garrige beans, milky chocolate and clove among many others. Definitively a perfume.
  More austere on the palate, as the Chateaux wants to reefier, acid still but without that aromas exuberance. Just good at best.
  Quite ready in my modest opinion.
  Unquestionably an outstanding bottle but only because that nose.
  
  Color plenamente maduro. Totalmente resuelto hacia uno amarronado.
  Piernas para servir cafés en Santiago de Chile.
  ¡Pedazo de nariz! Compleja a más no poder con aromas a algarrobas, chocolate con leche y clavo entre otros. Definitivamente un perfume.
  En boca más austero, como al propio Chateaux le gusta referirse, todavía ácido pero sin la exhibe rancia que aportaban esos aromas. En lo mejor solo bueno.
  Bastante listo en mi modesta opinión.
  Incuestionablemente una botella fuera de lo común pero solo por esa nariz.

• 1998 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Mouline

  Violet to the end, absolutely mature colour for a CdR 98 but with a long way to run.
  Plenty Syrah nose, I mean those typical aromas including some asphaltic, some mineral -coal- and pastry shop but at the potent side.
  Palate showed same tendencies, hence potent and little rustic for its origins. Piquant, sharped and dense at its best moments. For the rest watery texture and acid.
  Some sediments when finish in a bottle of such category. Bad thing? Sometimes it is good even...
  
  Violeta hasta el final, absolutamente madura para una Cote de Rotie del 98 pero todavía con recorrido.
  Nariz plenamente a Syrah, quiero decir esos aromas asfálticos, minerales -carbón- y a pastelería pero del lado potente.
  En boca mostró las mismas tendencias, así potente pero un poco rústica por sus orígenes. En sus mejores momentos, picante, afilada y densa. Para el resto de textura acuosa y ácida.
  En una botella de semejante categoría algunos sedimentos al terminar. ¿Mala cosa? A veces no...
