  • 2006 Rozak Pinot Noir C Block Rozak Ranch Vineyard 92 Points

USA, California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills

I was really impressed by all of the Rozak wines tasted, but only noted the C Block. This is notable for its dense earthy complexity throughout. Strong aromatics and almost chewy on the palate with earth and dried herb notes along with red fruit and orange peel peeking through. There's a lot of structure here, both from its acidity as well as fine grainy tannins. Still a dense core, this needs some time, but is a intriguing and enjoyable wine.
