Deep yellow. Honey, banana and vanillin aromatics. Rich, lots of vanilla oak, herbs and citrus. Very interesting but not as good as the first time I tried this-not quite as lively and much more defined by wood on the finish.
Medium ruby core. Spicy oak aromatics. Light weight, smoky red fruit and ground coffee. Slightly astringent finish now, but this is good and should round out with a few more years in bottle.
Moderately dark center. Some volatile acidity and green herbs. Medium weight with lovely, subtle red fruit, nice feel, sneaky acidity and spicy wood on the finish that enhances rather than shortens the wine. Pretty classic and great power for its weight. Very classy.
Dark saturated color. Very fruit driven nose-as New Worldly as the CUNE is classic Rioja. Light to medium body, overtly fruity with candied black cherry and just a bare hint of earth. Something very Gamay-like here. Ultimately too simple, the mouth feel is not great and the finish is short.
Dark for Rioja. American oak and smoke nose. Fairly lush entry with interesting florality and anise. Then, more tart red fruit and obvious, woody finish. Some nice elements but disjointed.
Medium ruby. Discrete oak and green herbs. Round entry. Blueberry fruit, spicy, lively acidity, good flesh and a moderately long, well knit finish. This is pretty seamless-ripe yet balanced by some well utilized wood tannins. Well done in a style that bridges traditional and modern.
