Flight 2 (4 Notes)

  • 1998 Château Giscours 91 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Closed at present, bright red fruit, harmonious, good depth; classical, finesse, firm structure, cool, gravel; lovely length.

  • 1998 Château du Tertre 91 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Toasty oak, slightly rustic, spices, good depth; much more weight of ripe fruit than the 1995/1996 because of the higher piquet, less length than the 1998 Giscours.

  • 1999 Château Giscours 90 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Deeper and opener than the 1998 at present, showing very well with its ripe and sweet 1999-fruit, well-balanced.

  • 2001 Château Giscours 90 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Lovely nose, striking depth but much lighter on the palate than the great 2000. Seems relatively simple right now and will need some time to show of its best.

  • 2001 Château du Tertre 91 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Relatively light nose, hint of coconut, no stables or toast, slightly oriental; very pleasant, rounded, stylish and supple; lovely length, noble oak.

Echantillon prélevé le 10 Mai 2004. Very deep colour; wonderful sweetness of ripe fruit, not much impact of oak yet, should turn into a rich wine.
