Toasty oak, slightly rustic, spices, good depth; much more weight of ripe fruit than the 1995/1996 because of the higher piquet, less length than the 1998 Giscours.

Deeper and opener than the 1998 at present, showing very well with its ripe and sweet 1999-fruit, well-balanced.

Wonderful soft and ripe fruit, full-on toasty oak; broad and ripe flavours, creamy. Very attractive, very presentable.

Assemblage of 55% CS, 45% M, 55hl/ha, 65% Grand Vin. Clearly shows the extra power of its great year, profound, rich, lovely extract, great balance and finesse.

Assemblage of 40% CS, 35% M, 20% CF, 5% PV, 42 hl/ha. Lovely fruit, low toast, deep and spicy; good weight, broad and creamy, a little less finesse than the Giscours 2000.

Lovely nose, striking depth but much lighter on the palate than the great 2000. Seems relatively simple right now and will need some time to show of its best.

Relatively light nose, hint of coconut, no stables or toast, slightly oriental; very pleasant, rounded, stylish and supple; lovely length, noble oak.

Echantillon prélevé le 27 Avril 2004. 60% CS - indian summer gave a lovely ripeness to the Cabernet-Sauvignon. Ripe and sweet fruit, spices, good weight - not as powerful as the 2000 but more weight than the 2001.

Echantillon prélevé le 10 Mai 2004. Very deep colour; wonderful sweetness of ripe fruit, not much impact of oak yet, should turn into a rich wine.

Echantillon prélevé le 10 Mai 2004. Very deep colour, wonderful sweetness of ripe fruit, less expressive than the Giscours 2003, may lack a little length?

Rich and somewhat burnt character, very 1989 but well-balanced, aromatic, hint of raisins.

Cooler and more classical than the 1989, more gravel, slightly harder tannins too, has aged well.

Wonderfully firm and ripe, cream, excellent Du Tertre typicity, well-developed, lively, lovely wine.

Hint of cork but still a lovely flavour, more finesse than Du Tertre 1982, cedar, lovely complexity.

Fully mature, clear 1982 character, relatively low acidity, "older" than the Giscours 1982, drink up.

Much livelier than the 1982 Du Tertre, clearly the better wine.

The nose clearly shows the hardness of 1975, medicinal; vital but very tight, stylish but will dry out.

Wonderfully gamey, slightly overripe, vanilla cream, light, tiring.

Almost dead.

Deep and rich, mint, power, classic, spices, purple, slightly porty but a really great wine.

Magnum. Still relatively lively but does show its age, barley sugar.

Delicate, light and lively, remarkably vital like many 1967's still are; an elderly lady but with few wrinkles.

Medicinal, real 1966 character, relatively tight but beautifully balanced, herbs.

Fragile but with a certain broadness and creaminess, lively and flavoursome.
