Some age apparent visually. Limey honied nose - racy. On the palate, medium , broad, racy acid structure - gorgeous aged Riesling. Very long with traces of herbal notes on the finish. 9% alcohol. Excellent
Light gold - some sulfur - racy lemon peel nose. Light and crisp palate, medium sweetness, considerable complexity - an almost weightless wine that dances on the palate. Minerality to the fore with a bright and involving finish. First rate wine at 7.5%.
Fresh and lively Pinot noir that feels a lot like a savigny. Beautiful bright and vibrant fruit that has a gorgeous food friendly balance yet also has good ripeness. The entire table went to France for this. Excellent stuff.
Disappointing wine. Very sappy American oak overwhelms the ageing fruit. On the palate, not drying out but certainly a wine at possesses a sour edge that I did not feel particularly attractive. This would have been better on release.

Very nice wine that opened beautifully over the day. Lean and fragrant with a beautiful core of bright acid and floral notes. Very Italian and is ageing very well in a linear style. (given as a prize for coming in 3rd for the NZ Wine Options game)
Tremendous showing for this great wine. Smokey, leathery, vibrant blackberry, animal, mineral nose of great interest and complexity. The palates delivers on the exquisite promise of the nose in a fresh and mineral, layered and focused rich and ripe Syrah that is slightly rustic and has a bit of Brett but in a way that adds to the experience. Mature but still able to age for another case or two in a cold cellar. A great showing for Clape. (given to us by August Clape after visiting his cave in 1992)
