France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
(7/26/2013)
Tasting. Mostly black fruit with some background red cherry aromas and flavors. Woodsy and earthy spice. Meaty textures, long finish with some firm tannins coming through at end for now. Better closer to 2020.
Tasting. Bright red fruit with a hint of cassis. Slightly rustic middle with some animale character with some firm tannins on finish. 89-90 point potential, but needs 5+ years.
Tasting. Charming red fruit with some floral charm, licorice and some fresh herb hints. Very accessible and balanced already today, this is a very good, accessible and young drinking Volnay.
Tasting. Very impressive from a producer i've never tried before. From the Bichot family. Very elegant red and black fruit with good spice hints. Well balanced and textured. Give a few years to absorb new oak a little better, but this is really well done.
Tasting. forward fruit aromas, accessible and charming, not showing what I'd normally consider "Pommard." Slightly more dense and black on palate with some slightly rugged character on very end. Good young drinking Pommard.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
(7/26/2013)
Tasting. Red fruit aromas and flavors with some meaty spice and oak hints. More firm and structured, less mineral driven and textured, vs what I normally associate with Chambolle-Musigny.
Tasting. charming red fruit aromas, fresh and elegant. Similar on palate with lighter weight and density but well textured and refined. Will drink well young.
Tasting. Both red and black fruit with modest spice, good structure that's a bit dense now but with great energy at the conclusion. Very good 90-91 point potential starting 2017 or later.

Tasting. Intensely perfumed start. Red fruit with lots of sweet spice. Very good intensity and bright fruit, could use a couple fo years to absorb a bit more oak and integrate. Very good potential, most likely from 2015 forward.
Tasting. Very engaging spice drive start with ripe red berries. Similar on palate with a bit of vanilla, licorice and chocolate. Very well textured and balanced. Very charming.

Tasting. Spice driven start with some cinnamon, allspice and soy with black cherry and vanilla. Black and red flavors, very good density and spice with lots of energy. Needs 4+ years.
Tasting. Ripe and lush black cherry and boysenberry start with good floral and spice support. Good length and power, I just wish this were less fruit driven and leaner, hoping the good acidity helps provide better balance starting next year or after. Still, 90 point potential.
Tasting. Ripe red fruit with restrain and good floral and spice support. Good balance and textures, certainly a food friendly wine, drinking well now. Very good.
Tasting. Elegantly styled Pinot Noir red fruit that balanced ripe fruit, Asian five spice, new oak hints well. Flavors of both red and black fruit also some some restraint balanced by acidity, similar spice profile, all in good balance. Slightly firm middle to finish, better in a few years. Very good.
Tasting. Rich fruit and spice start, more subtle and nuanced on palate, helped by good level of acidity and good tannins. Good potential, hold for at least 2-3 years.
Tasting. Slightly floral start with charming red cherry aromas, anise and fresh herbs. Black and red fruit flavors are round and accessible but well supported by energy throughout. Some sweetness and baby fat on finish that I expect will soften in a year or two.
Tasting. Black fruit aromas and flavors with plenty of braised meat spice. Very good textures and balance already now, I expect this will integrate very nicely in another year or two with impressive potential.
