France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Decanted for one hour. Gorgeous Batard. Fresh, sweet nose. Complex taste, power, energy, layers of soft fruit, minerality, long finish. My wine of the night, impressive.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Very elegant nose, silky, sweet, red fruit, others described it to be a typical Rouget nose. Concentrated taste, velvet fruitiness, some sweetness, soft tannins. In the background some 2004 greenness. Finish a bit short, maybe due to these green tones. A difficult wine to rate, on the one hand lovely material, on the other hand a bit of the little green monster...If the green stuff integrates in future it should get another 2 points extra.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
This 2007 Clos Vougeot is becoming drinkable. Very expressive nose, full with spices and red and black fruit. Very Clos Vougeot. Palate concentrated, sweet, mature, again fruit and spice. 90 points because there is still wood present that needs to be integrated in the next years, after which the wine will be more balanced. There is enough fruit present for this integration to take place.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
First young Bonnes Mares I ever had. Very approachable, masculine muscular wine. Nose with red fruit, minerals, some spicyness. Concentrated taste, lots of fruit and tannins but well balanced, pure and clean. Very long finish. This shows that great Burgundies can indeed be enjoyed young.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Impressively rich wine, pure Grenache. Full with black fruit, cassis, spices, herbs. Intense but not obtrusive. It would be very interesting to follow its development, because this will most likely evolve in a very special CdP over time. Because of my inexperience with young Rhône wine, I cannot rate this.
Sauternes as it should be. Beautiful golden color. Nose full with dried fruit, pineapple, orange. Palate beautifull combination of fruit, sweetness, acidity and botrytis.
2009 Domaine Roulot Bourgogne Blanc 89 Points
France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc
Soft sweet nose, melon and citrus. Sweet taste, fruit with some saline and minerals. A bit understated style which makes it very special.

Still young. Tight nose, lots of minerals. Palate concentrated, lovely minerality, crisp acidity. This will only get better when it opens up.
