Flight 3 - Domestic Chardonnay Flight (2 Notes)

  • 2008 Kistler Chardonnay Parmelee Hill Vineyard Stone Flat 95 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast

Medium gold color. PNP, drank 1+ glass over 90 minutes. I thought this was splendid. Explosive nose with apples, white flowers, minerals, nutty, crème brule, honeysuckle, beeswax, peach, and spice. The palate is deep and layered with good acidity, intense flavors, apple, apricot, peach, vanilla, honey, nuts and very long intense finish.

Flight 4 - Table 2 Wines (4 Notes)

Closing

There were truly some outstanding wines tonight. I loved the Kistler and the Marcassin, as well as the 1990 Heidsick. All of the Burgs that we had at our table were quite good as well, though that ugly premox word reared its head again.
