Flight 2 - Rosé and Reds (3 Notes)

  • 2011 Gallo Family Vineyards / Gallo of Sonoma White Zinfandel

    USA, California

Appearance is clear, pale, salmon colour.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of sweet raisins and honey, and a mild green vegetal hint.
Off-dry sweetness. Low acidity and hardly any tannins. Light-medium body. Lots of honeyed raisin flavours, with the persistent vegetal note that no one else in the class seemed to get. Short-medium finish. I have not tried much Rosé wines, but I kind of like this. Enjoyable for what it is.
