France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
At a great place right now with lots of orchard fruit, toasted hazelnut and intense earthiness. Long and balanced, finishing with a burst of freshness and energy.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
A very good well aged white Burgundy, still displaying hints of ripe fruit behind more earthy elements start-to-finish. Less intense flavors than I'd expect, making the structural components slightly pronounced.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
Absolutely delicious and fun, this shows lots of mostly black fruit, very lush and slightly sweet. Unmistakably Leroy spice, particularly aromatically. This is a very fun, fruit-driven wine, slightly light on the acidity, minerality or tannins that would make me think it from NSG.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Tough wine to assess. Very charming and floral start with very pretty red cherry and strawberry. Palate far less forthcoming, very firm and backward with lots of good mineral textures. This was popped-and-poured, and would have benefited from 1/2 day of air.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Started very barnyardy with some Brett, the unattractive notes dissipated after 10-15 minutes, and some intriguing spice aromas emerged after 30 minutes in glass. Mature red fruit with good minerality and acidity. Slightly too firm at the very finish.
Very charming and refreshing, with some nutty notes along with apple and floral hints. Served to me blind, I thought it might have been demi-sec sparkling Chenin Blanc from Loire.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Open a couple of hours before tasted. Dense, black fruit that has very good concentration but seems backward and brooding for now. Similar to another bottle from several months ago that got more air before serving, but improved with more time in glass.
Fat and ultra concentrated black fruit aromas and flavors. Comes across as slightly top heavy and extreme. I found this easy to simply enjoy if I didn't over think the wine.

A little apple, lots more lemon, some lemon peel. Very good overall, well balanced, moderate intensity and length.
