to-die-for nose of forest, rose petals, tar and liquorice. i'd give it 98 for the nose alone. sadly the palate was unlike any other 78 la chapelle i've had. weak, fading and thin. guess just bad luck with the bottle.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
decanted half an hour before serving. great from the word go. no signs of fading even after a couple of hours. alluring perfume coupled with great structure. a winner!
notorious for its bottle variation, this again was not as good as it should be. decanted half an hour before serving. quite smoky to start with. roasted coffee beans. after an hour or so notes of dried herbs, tea leaves became a little overwhelming.
decanted for 1.5hrs. our leading mnsc boys were convinced it's a 90 montrose. i thought it was more like 90 cheval blanc. a jaw dropping out-performer.
1990 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon
France, Champagne
very pleasant. still youthful
