Ridge Vineyards Lytton Springs Estate
Tasted Wednesday, May 7, 2014 by AllRed with 300 views
A tasting at Ridge is always the second stop on our first day in wine country. We participated in the Century Tour, taking a short ride through the vineyard followed by a walk through the barrel and tank rooms and ending with a seated tasting comparing new release and older bottlings.
Our host poured a couple of extra wines for us before we left, though i only tasted the Chard.
2013 Ridge Zinfandel Buchignani Ranch 92 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County
Barrel sample. Really bright and fruit-forward with aromas of boysenberry, raspberry and red fruit with a fun grapey/jammy edge to it. Full and exuberant with an abundance of bright red fruit on the palate. Has just a faint meaty quality on the finish. I loved this. 92+ pts.
